I let out a long sigh and opened my mouth.

“Joah. Next hunting tournament, bring me something even more impressive.”

“Would a songbird be okay, Cien?”

“No. A lion or a dragon! Try harder.”

It was nonsense, of course.

Those tall, guileless uncles—who could barely catch rabbits and would just run away if they saw a monster—had no chance of bringing back lions or dragons.

‘But if I say it like this, maybe they’ll at least stay alert.’

The uncle who’d been crying tears just moments ago—his face so fearsome it looked like it could scratch your eyes out, yet his heart so tender—spoke up loudly.

“A lion or a dragon? Oh, that’s my specialty—”

“Ugh, so noisy.”
