I left my room and began leaping down like a madwoman.

The muscular maid sisters patrolling the hallway and Father’s villainous aide chatting idly with them cried out in confusion.

“Lady Cien?”

“Oh dear, our little miss! You’ll get hurt if you run like that!”

But instead of caring about their stares, I ignored my screaming, stiff muscles and kept running wildly.

‘Wait, this isn’t the time to just run blindly! My steps are slower than Ashid’s.’

My heart pounded as if about to burst, and my lungs felt completely empty. I placed a hand on my chest and barely managed to catch my breath.

I couldn’t just keep running—I needed to use my head.

Fortunately, thanks to running nonstop without worrying about stamina, I’d already reached the second-floor corridor.

I quickly scanned my surroundings and hurried toward the window at the hallway’s edge.

‘Maybe he hasn’t even left the mansion yet. Perhaps he’s waiting for me to catch him.’

With desperate hope that Ashid would be beyond that window, I took in the outside view.

Channeling the sharp eyes of a hawk, I thoroughly scanned Mirmod’s central plaza, clock tower, gloomy spires, and even the garden in the distance.

‘Please, please…’

Though the mansion was large and teeming with people, I was confident I could spot Ashid.
