Since not a single tea room was open, Yuricien eventually boarded the carriage with Edna. Mitchell set up a folding table inside the spacious carriage, and Daisy, who had brewed tea outside, came aboard with teacups matching the number of people.

“It would’ve been nice to have some pastries. What a shame.”

Daisy’s quiet, regretful murmur could be heard as she stepped out of the carriage. She hadn’t brought anything because she never imagined that every shop in Centum City would be closed.

“Really, even just one madeleine would’ve been great.”

“Shall I go look around nearby?”

At Yuricien’s words, Benjamin acted as if he were about to stand up immediately. Before Yuricien could even respond, Edna, seated opposite, frowned.

“It’s fine, Your Highness. I’ve been watching my weight lately.”

As she said this, she turned her head to find the angle where she looked most beautiful and blinked her eyes. It wasn’t because Benjamin was the Crown Prince and she couldn’t ask him to run errands—it was probably because she needed to spend as much time as possible with him to seduce him.

‘What on earth…’

Even after hearing just yesterday that Benjamin and Yuricien had ‘spent the night together,’ Edna still seemed unwilling to give up on Benjamin. Yuricien was exasperated by Edna’s blatant scheming right in front of her but didn’t show it.

‘Sigh, fine.’

Though it wasn’t intentional, she’d now confirmed that Edna paid no mind even to rumors that Benjamin, having promised marriage to Yuricien, had been unfaithful with Lafine.

Yuricien glanced sideways at Benjamin. Benjamin wasn’t even looking at Edna. His previously bored gaze—seemingly more interested in counting dust on the sofa—changed instantly the moment he sensed Yuricien’s presence.

‘Huh?’

Even such a brief glance seemed to please him at receiving Yuricien’s attention; life sparked in his green eyes. Yuricien suddenly felt a bit smug.
