If You Wish For My Death (6 Chapters Left to Complete) - Chapter 22
Flutter—flutter—the thin pages flipped rapidly. After examining the book for a long while, Veronica soon shook her head and let out a deep sigh.
“There’s still nothing.”
Her shoulders ached from hunching over so long. Rubbing her stiff shoulders, Veronica scanned the floor.
Books were piled everywhere—at the ends of the shelves and scattered across the floor. Yet nowhere could she find the volume containing the information she sought.
She had checked just in case, but as expected, it was futile. There simply was no book explaining the phenomenon she was experiencing.
She had already searched through everything multiple times before, but confirming it once again left her newly disheartened.
She had scoured every book in the study, even resorting to inspecting the volumes in her father’s office, but found nothing of value.
When you die, you return to age sixteen. Whether through accident, murder, or suicide—you always return to sixteen. To anyone who hadn’t experienced it firsthand, it sounded utterly absurd.
Veronica herself would have dismissed it as madness too, had it not happened to her. Yet it was true—she kept returning to sixteen.
Once, Veronica had desperately wanted to end this strange cycle. But she couldn’t find a way.
She searched through books and sought out others rumored to have experienced something similar, only to discover they were all frauds.
Even information brokers who sold secrets often peddled outright falsehoods.
In her frustration, she once confided in someone else. Hearing they called her delusional was the best-case scenario; the worst was being locked away in a mental hospital.
No matter how truthfully she spoke, people treated her like a lunatic. She had even tried to kill herself, but her limbs were restrained, making it impossible.
Veronica was then force-fed strange drugs and subjected to inhumane experiments. In another sense, she truly went mad.

One-line summary: The husband I married on a whim had been secretly in love with me for a long time.
On the day when Jun Shao finally obtained the imperial decree for her marriage, Lan Qu, the person she had admired for six years, defied the decree and ran away.
Her gentleness and devotion, her promise of a lifetime together, were all disregarded by him. Instead, he dreamed of entering the palace to serve the Emperor’s sister as a sixth-rank attendant.
News of this incident spread throughout the capital, and the alleys in front of and behind the Lan mansion were crowded with people who came to watch the commotion.
Jun Shao should have been embarrassed and angry.
But someone stepped in to protect her dignity.
The figure was in a miserable state, yet still possessed an undeniable elegance and handsomeness.
The young lord struggled to climb the wall of the Lan mansion and shouted to her, “If he won’t marry you, I will!”
So, Jun Shao took advantage of the situation and married the person.
She thought the young lord did it to save the Lan family from the crime of defying the imperial decree, but never imagined that from beginning to end, what he coveted was her.
*
After the wedding, Jun Shao felt like she was living in a dream.
Her Wife-master was as beautiful as a fairy in a painting, skilled in the six arts, well-versed in poetry and literature, capable of being gentle and attentive, and also grand and dignified. Most importantly, she was the only one in his heart and eyes.
Jun Shao didn’t know how Lan Shiwu, as a illegitimate son without a father and blessed with beauty, had managed to preserve his purity, recklessly escape, and use his last ounce of strength to ruin his own reputation, all because of his love for her, just to stand before her.
She could only see him gazing at her with eyes full of love, and when she bestowed a name upon him, his eyes shone like stars.
“You have come to me like a weary bird perching on a branch. I shall call you A Qi.”

this chapter was extremely sad. I like the fact that the author keep emphasizing on her past life, like not to let go her trauma. I i have read many fast pace regression novels when as soon as fmc finds love everything else just goes really fast and nothing else matters almost as if forgetting the revenge which was suppose to be the priority, so far loving this novel i hope they don’t ruin it.
I can totally understand the fmc she don’t want fake friends cause she already has a experience where she thought someone was her friend but they where only using her for her status. I mean its always hard to trust people when u been betrayed badly. I can totally understand her having trust issues.
she must be thinking something really romantic is going on between them. If only she knew what her favorite is scheming in that head of hers.
