If You Wish For My Death (6 Chapters Left to Complete) - Chapter 20
Below the hill, Cassian was facing off against assassins. He had been ambushed during the hunting tournament.
Seeing how they surrounded and rushed him without hesitation, their objective was clear. To attempt assassination at a hunt hosted personally by the Emperor—these men truly had audacity.
He might have barely managed to dispatch two of them, but another sliced his arm. With five of them, it was no easy feat.
Pushing his trembling servant behind him, Cassian kept his guard up.
Cassian took a deep breath. He had to stay calm—especially in a situation like this.
At that moment, the image of a woman wandering somewhere in the forest surfaced in his mind.
It wasn’t that he believed she’d obediently stay put—after all, she was the kind of woman who could bolt off anywhere.
If she encountered these men before he did, it would be a serious disaster indeed.
Knowing who Duke Hardness was, they likely wouldn’t recklessly lay hands on her—but one could never be sure. There were always those who thought killing solved everything.
Immediately afterward, he parried the sword of an assassin lunging at him. He blocked that strike, but another slipped past him and charged toward the servant. Cassian shoved his current opponent aside and dashed over.
He swiftly intercepted the blade swung at the servant. Though his counterattack succeeded, he failed to block the follow-up strike from the assailant behind him.
At that instant, a familiar figure darted in front of him. Cassian’s eyes widened. Chestnut-brown hair fluttered before his eyes.
“Veronica Hardness!”
Veronica screamed and collapsed. Cassian caught her, and together they fell to the ground.
“Miss Hardness! Miss Hardness!”

My Ex-Girlfriend Is The Regent In The Female-dominant World (Male lead transmigrates to the matriarchal world)
Two years ago, Gu Sui picked up a homeless woman in ancient costume from the street.
Apart from occasionally claiming to be a princess from a female-dominant country due to illness, her figure, appearance, intelligence, and martial arts skills were impeccable.
Naturally evolving from roommates to girlfriends, as time went on, Gu Sui found it increasingly difficult to tolerate her queen syndrome.
“Mu Jiulu, can you stop controlling me inside and out? Let’s break up.”
Gu Sui made a breakup call, and since then, he couldn’t find any trace of her.
A year later, Gu Sui, who was planning to move, woke up the next day and found himself in a different place.
“Young Master, today is the day you choose your Wife-master through martial arts competition at Jade Dew Pavilion. Please get up quickly.”
Gu Sui: Who am I? Where am I? What am I doing?
As the only son of a general’s mansion in a female-dominant dynasty, the young empress personally issued a decree allowing Gu Sui to select his Wife-master through martial arts competition. Whoever could defeat him could marry him.
Gu Sui: “……”
He didn’t inherit the original owner’s martial prowess, so anyone could defeat him! And what the hell is a Wife-master?
Forced to come to Jade Dew Pavilion, the densely packed women below made Gu Sui’s agoraphobia act up, and his face was full of resistance.
Until he saw the Regent sitting on the second floor, with a smile on the corner of her lips, her eyes wicked and nonchalant.
Hmm… she looked a little familiar.
It turned out that the Regent also found him a little familiar.
Mu Jiulu fiddled with her bone clasp, her deep gaze locked on the man who was out of place in this world.
“Finally, I found you.”

this chapter was extremely sad. I like the fact that the author keep emphasizing on her past life, like not to let go her trauma. I i have read many fast pace regression novels when as soon as fmc finds love everything else just goes really fast and nothing else matters almost as if forgetting the revenge which was suppose to be the priority, so far loving this novel i hope they don’t ruin it.
I can totally understand the fmc she don’t want fake friends cause she already has a experience where she thought someone was her friend but they where only using her for her status. I mean its always hard to trust people when u been betrayed badly. I can totally understand her having trust issues.
she must be thinking something really romantic is going on between them. If only she knew what her favorite is scheming in that head of hers.
