One day in the season when spring flowers in the garden began to bloom one by one, a person busily moved about the Hiran Residence.

The young woman who had married Duke Hiran two years prior and had newly become the lady of the house surveyed every corner with notably sharp eyes.

“Add floral decorations here as well.”

“Yes, my lady.”

At her gesture, the servants moved in perfect unison, and the candelabra previously arranged like table ornaments became surrounded by pastel-colored blossoms.

Kisa watched the scene with brief satisfaction before walking toward the window where two servants were waiting for her.

After carefully examining the two curtains they held, Kisa finally made her decision.

“This one will be better.”

Afterward, Kisa took a moment to relax as she watched the servants take down the winter curtains and hang the spring ones.

‘If only we’d arrived a few days earlier, we could have prepared more comfortably.’

Their journey from Yomos to the capital had been delayed due to an unexpected issue, pushing back their arrival.

It had been fine at first when Count DeBello, having heard that Duke and Duchess Hiran’s party would pass near his lands, invited them to his estate. Staying there for a day to spend time with the count’s family hadn’t seemed like a bad plan.

But things took a bad turn when the count strongly urged them to stay a few more days. He explained that local lords and their spouses were gathering at his estate in two days’ time and insisted they at least stop by to greet everyone.

They could have refused and left anyway. In fact, Seyard had already begun voicing his polite refusal with, “We appreciate the offer, but—”

Unfortunately, Kisa, standing beside him at the time, stopped him.
