Kisa, shocked, shot up from her seat and shouted at Daniel.

“You! What are you even doing? Don’t tell me you’re the one who jumped in front of the carriage?”

Daniel responded by simply lifting one corner of his mouth even higher.

“Are you insane? What if you’d died? Don’t you realize how dangerous that was?”

“Wow, Kisa. Are you really worrying about a man who isn’t even your fiancé anymore? Nice—I haven’t been fussed over by you in ages.”

“No, is that really what you should be saying right now?”

“Why not? I’m perfectly fine as it is. That’s all that matters.”

Having said that, Daniel leaned back comfortably against the seat.

Honestly, it was utterly absurd behavior.

He acted as if he had multiple lives, fully aware that every year numerous people were injured or killed in carriage accidents.

Kisa stared at the man, who had grown even more shameless, and declared firmly,

“Get out of my carriage right now.”

“Refused.”

“Don’t you know this is outright criminal? Should I call the constable right away?”

“Go ahead and call them. But by the time the famously slow capital constables get here, you’ll have already heard me out.”
