Kisa hastily pulled away from the man who had been clinging tightly to her.
“Why are you here?”

This supremely arrogant man had personally come to purchase something as trivial as a handkerchief, rather than sending a servant?
Perhaps he might do such a thing for Hazel, whom he so clearly favored—but the coincidence that his visit overlapped precisely with Kisa’s was hard to swallow.
“Liar. You followed me, didn’t you?”
“What? Our young lady really does have an overactive imagination.”
Though Daniel sneered, this was a bustling district filled with upscale shops—one he frequently visited himself. Surely, he had merely arrived by chance and, spotting Kisa, decided to tail her.
“Go about your own business. Don’t bother innocent people.”
“So I said—I came for a handkerchief. While I’m at it, I’ll also offer you a bit of advice on the gift you’re picking out for me.”
“Your gift?”
Kisa blinked several times before fully grasping Daniel’s meaning. So utterly absurd was it that an exasperated puff of air escaped her lips.
“What nonsense are you spouting? I’d never give you a gift in the first place.”
