“Did Your Highness sneak out again at night?”

“It wasn’t night—she boldly left during the day. Even borrowed my words.”

“I told her it wasn’t necessary, but she nearly died trying to save the forest. My heart dropped.”

“I understand. Persuading the princess to change her mind is harder than cutting down a thousand-year-old tree with a dagger.”
