Luans gritted his teeth audibly. His mind was so dizzy and chaotic he felt like he was going mad. Even when he closed his eyes, Lorencia’s pure, gentle smile kept haunting his thoughts.

He grew increasingly irritated by Lorencia’s face, which kept appearing in his mind several times a day.

Before falling asleep—and even in his dreams—only Lorencia appeared. Always alongside Teishar, the man he wanted to kill….

“Lorencia. This isn’t right. You should think only of me, even in dreams. How dare you whisper sweet nothings with someone else?”

Luans desperately shook his throbbing head. Merely watching the two gaze tenderly at each other in his dreams made his stomach churn and brought on nausea.

Even though he screamed at them to get apart, they only drew closer, gazing at each other with overflowing affection—it was enough to drive him insane. His chest tightened painfully.

“You’re a monster born for me. You’re mine! Marquis Teishar Spencer!”

A violent, impulsive fury boiled within his emerald eyes. All he could think of was bringing Lorencia to his palace immediately. He couldn’t wait any longer. He had to get her, no matter what.

“No. Luans von Ishter, that monster wants to stay by my side, doesn’t he? What am I thinking? Dreams are just dreams. Calm down.”

Remembering Lorencia looking at him with flushed cheeks eased the tightness and nausea in his chest. Luans closed his eyes.

He recalled her large, round eyes, frightened when they first met, asking who he was. Her small, vivid red lips that always called only his name.

The moment he remembered Lorencia calling Teishar by that affectionate nickname, Luans scowled fiercely.

“I must become emperor quickly.”
