I Will No Longer Live As Your Villainess (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 8
Anne could not hide her resentment. Ilina felt the same way. On top of everything, they were already dissatisfied that Lorencia had been formally registered into House Paul Heredian. But Brandt had told them to endure it for the sake of their greater cause. So they had suppressed their rising anger, time and again.
“To think he’s asking us to host that monster’s debutante ball!”
Anne raised her voice and slammed her palm hard onto the table. After all these years of holding back her fury, the only reward was being tasked with throwing a debutante ball for a monster—it was impossible to stay calm.
“That monster said something strange to His Highness Prince Luans, and now our date got canceled, Mother.”
The moment her date with Luans was canceled yesterday, Ilina marched straight to Lorencia’s room to confront her. She grabbed things from the room and threw them. Yet Lorencia didn’t even blink. Instead, she sneered and further provoked Ilina’s rage.
“To think His Highness Prince Luans would ask us to host a debutante ball for that monster—when she deserves nothing less than being torn apart and fed to beasts!”
Luans’s explosive statement just moments ago had left Anne and Ilina utterly shocked.
Luans stared intently at Ilina as he spoke. Ilina’s face flushed with humiliation. She understood well enough that Luans was weighing House Montbelionst against House Paul Heredian—but she never imagined he’d say it so bluntly.
Anne addressed Luans politely. Though furious, she knew she had to endure once more.
Anne’s long fingers slowly tapped against the armrest of the sofa. She needed to figure out how to relieve her overwhelming irritation and stress.
“There’s no need to put genuine effort into throwing a debutante ball for that monster, is there, Mother?”
“You’re absolutely right, Ilina. We should arrange a debutante ball befitting a bastard.”
Anne felt deeply humiliated at the thought of preparing a bastard’s debutante ball with her own hands. She clenched her teeth tightly. Involuntarily, memories of the humiliating incident twenty years ago resurfaced.
Brandt had been away on a long business trip to the Polloid Empire. When he returned, he brought along a pregnant woman.
“Who is she, dear? Don’t tell me you’ve taken a mistress?”
The beautiful woman with fiery red hair and striking deep blue eyes followed behind Brandt, concealing her swollen belly.
“She’s carrying my child.”
“If she’s merely a bastard, you didn’t need to bring her here.”
“Even if she’s a bastard, she belongs to our house.”
“You should’ve just bought a courtesan instead. Why bring home such a filthy half-breed?”
“Quiet, Anne.”
The shock she felt then had been immense. The wound in her heart was beyond words. The only consolation was—
“After all, she’s just a bastard. I’ll confine her to the topmost room of the tower—she won’t be allowed to take a single step outside.”
And the truth Brandt later revealed turned out to be surprisingly amusing. Still, his infidelity remained unchanged, and the pain she suffered remained just as real.
The mistress he might have used for venting was long dead. But Lorencia—the living proof of his horrid affair—was still alive. Therefore…
“Yes. The monster’s first dance partner should be Viscount Lorilors.”
“Mother, that’s not just ‘suitable’—he’s perfect. Viscount Lorilors is known to pursue any woman he sees. He might even see Lorencia as a woman despite her pitiful appearance.”
“He may be too good for a bastard, but I’m sure Viscount Lorilors would gladly be Lorencia’s dance partner.”
“I hope that monster ends up with Viscount Lorilors and loses His Highness Prince Luans’s favor.”
“Ilina, His Highness Prince Luans has no interest in that monster. His attention is solely on you.”
“But His Highness Prince Luans keeps seeking out only Lorencia!”
“He already called her a disposable pawn—once she’s served her purpose, he’ll discard her. Until then, we must endure, no matter how unpleasant it is to look at her.”
“I hope Lorencia suffers something filthy and disgraceful at the hands of Viscount Lorilors. I’d love to see an entertaining spectacle, Mother.”
“Of course, that’s exactly how it’ll turn out.”
“Oh, right, Mother. I’ll send a letter to Viscount Lorilors myself.”
“Go ahead.”
Ilina’s letter was immediately sent to Lorilors of House Stopu. Unaware of what consequences her letter might bring.
[This is the timeline separator]Lorilors of House Stopu was a man so despicable he wasn’t even worth calling trash. [A man who lost all composure at the sight of any woman]—that was Lorilors. Though a man might naturally admire women, people avoided Lorilors because of his sinister demeanor and his open, shameless lechery.
“A letter for me?”
Lorilors took pleasure in knowing people avoided him, so when his servant announced a letter had arrived, he almost doubted his ears. It felt as if yesterday’s drunken haze had suddenly cleared.
“From where? Are you sure it’s really for me? Seriously!”
“It’s from House Count Paul Heredian.”
There could be only one reason why a wealthy count’s house would send a letter to someone like him, who’d been banished from society.
“What do they intend to use me for?”
Lorilors let out a hollow laugh.
“Hand it over.”

He took the white envelope from the servant and, like a dog, pressed his nose against it and sniffed loudly. Lorilors knew the scent of letter envelopes well. This fragrance carried both an air of dignity and an undercurrent of seduction—like that of an aging, cheap courtesan.
“Hah… It’s been ages since I’ve smelled such a vile perfume. So the sender is Paul Heredian.”
A faint smile tugged at Lorilors’s lips. As the servant reached for a knife to open the envelope, Lorilors simply tore it open with his fingers and began reading the contents.
“They’re asking me to be the first dance partner at the debutante ball? What’s this? Not even sending a portrait—how utterly thoughtless!”
Lorilors muttered absentmindedly, then narrowed his eyes at the word ‘bastard’ midway through the letter. Though he’d been ostracized from high society, he still heard plenty of gossip from the young noblemen he gambled with.
Among those rumors, the tale of the bastard confined to the Paul Heredian manor was particularly famous.
“Yes, I heard the bastard was officially recognized as the count’s daughter.”
Lorilors set the letter down and burst into loud laughter.
“Hahaha! So that’s it! This is delightfully absurd!”
There are three crucial elements for a successful debutante ball: the color of the dress, the jewelry worn, and the escort chosen for the first dance.
“So they think a piece of trash like me is the perfect match to escort a bastard and share her first dance?”
Though the letter’s wording was polite, its underlying intent was more than enough to offend Lorilors. However, the generous compensation offered by House Paul Heredian was tempting. Still, accepting it outright would make him feel cheap, so his pride hesitated to agree immediately.
“Lorencia Paul Heredian, huh…”
Having been locked away, Lorencia was likely a naive girl who’d never even held a man’s hand. He grew curious about what kind of woman she was.
Though a bastard, she was now officially the daughter of a count—and he began to feel they might actually suit each other well. He even started imagining marriage might be possible. After all, there was currently no woman willing to marry him, nor anyone who caught his fancy.
If House Paul Heredian went so far as to personally request him as the debutante’s first dance partner, they must certainly be considering marriage—and that’s precisely why they’d approached him.
Otherwise, why would they ask someone as worthless as him?
If the countess truly wanted to get rid of the bastard she found so repulsive as soon as possible…
“Maybe they’ll offer a hefty dowry when we marry?”
Satisfied, Lorilors exhaled deeply and called for his servant to bring wine and writing paper.
[This is the timeline separator]While Lorencia was away bathing, Julie, following Ilina’s orders, struggled alongside the maids to catch Leo the cat and feed him.
But unlike an ordinary kitten, Leo bared his sharp teeth and growled aggressively.
-Grrrr.
Completely unlike his usual self—who purred sweetly and swayed his tail in Lorencia’s arms—he now radiated terrifying hostility, like a sleek black panther.
“Why won’t he eat?”
“How should I know! Just grab him quickly and feed him!”
-Meeeeeowww!
Leo’s cries grew louder and fiercer, as if he were about to tear into Julie and the maids at any moment.
-MEOOOOOWWWW!
“Seriously, what kind of cat is this savage? Look—his fur’s standing straight up!”
“What part of that looks like a kitten? Ugh, it’s terrifying.”
One maid trembled behind Julie, hiding in fear. Julie herself could only watch, sweating coldly. She’d seen many cats before, but never one this viciously aggressive.
A tense standoff developed between the cat, Julie, and the maids.
“Miss Lorencia will finish her bath soon…”
“What should we do, Head Maid Julie? We haven’t fed the cat yet.”
“We must feed him somehow. We can’t disappoint Miss Ilina.”
Just then, Leo—who had been shrieking shrilly with his fur bristling—suddenly began swaying his tail gently.
“What’s wrong? Will our Leo’s hunger ruin Ilina’s plans?”
“Of course it will! Eeek! Miss Lorencia—you’re back from your bath already?”
Startled by Lorencia’s sudden, silent appearance behind them, Julie and the maids quickly lowered their eyes and swallowed hard.
-Meeeeeowww!
Just moments earlier, Leo had been a ferocious beast ready to sink his teeth into their throats—but the instant he saw Lorencia, he immediately became affectionate, circling her dress and nuzzling her legs.
-Meow!
“Leo.”
Lorencia slightly bent her knees, opened her arms warmly, and gently called to Leo. She stroked his head with the back of her hand as he approached.
“Shall I hold you?”
-Meow.
At the offer, Leo closed his eyes happily, trembling slightly as he soaked in the warmth of Lorencia’s touch. Smiling softly, Lorencia lifted Leo into her arms. Cradled there, Leo opened his eyes and gazed up at her with tender affection.
“Miss Ilina asked us to prepare some shredded bonito porridge—the kind cats love—for him.”

“So you came to feed Leo his meal.”
“Yes.”
“So that’s Leo’s meal for today, then.”
Lorencia pointed to the bowl of porridge sitting on the floor.
Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day
It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!

This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.
The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.
Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.
If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.
It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.
The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.
In the end, everything will come together and be explained.
One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!
In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.
Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.
However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.
Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.
Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?
——
Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.
His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.
Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”
——
The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.
Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!
Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!
The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…
——
But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.
The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.
She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…
Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”
Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”
Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?
[Small Theater]
The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.
Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”
Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.
Zhu Wansheng: ?
Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…
On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.
Warm breath lingers on her neck.
“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
