“She will send me a letter saying she intends to visit, carrying several blank imperial edicts stamped with the emperor’s seal.”

Lorencia continued speaking as she looked up at Teishar, who was embracing her waist tightly.

“I will reply that, should Ilina bring an edict with the emperor’s seal already affixed to it as I desire, I won’t refuse her visit—and I’ll grant her everything she wishes.”

The thought of them fighting and doubting each other made Lorencia’s lips curl upward involuntarily.
