Daniel and Luans, having received a note saying the operation succeeded, would be far too busy vying to become Emperor of the Isther Empire to worry about whether the assassins survived or not. The fire spreading through the White Villa soared skyward, as if unaware of any limit. Embers had already leapt onto the trees. Fortunately, there were enough people to extinguish the flames and ample water to put them out completely.

The White Villa burned entirely to the ground. The fire was quickly brought under control.

Thanks to Lorencia’s foresight, the fire did not spread widely.

Morning dawned. People arrived from the Isther Empire to inspect the White Villa. Upon seeing the villa reduced to blackened ruins, they discovered charred bodies dressed in the clothes of Adolf and Ines.

In truth, those clothes had been placed on the assassins, but the Isther Empire’s envoys assumed Adolf and Ines had perished in the fire.

Immediately, the funeral for Emperor Adolf and Empress Ines was held. The ceremony was brief.

The moment the funeral ended, Luans instantly ascended the throne as emperor. Everything unfolded exactly as Lorencia had foreseen. She let out an unconscious sigh of relief.

But Luans becoming emperor meant he would soon come to the Poloid Empire.

“Emperor Luans will be coming here soon. And he’ll say harsh things to Ter.”

“It’s alright. His words won’t wound me in the slightest.”

“I’m not alright with it.”

Now that Luans had become emperor of an entire empire, Teishar could not act carelessly toward him. No matter what cruel words Luans spoke, Teishar would have to endure them.
