“This is the medicine that was once placed in the Empress Consort’s favorite tea.”

“Medicine…?”

“It was a contraceptive.”

A soft gasp escaped Alice as she covered her mouth. Shock and despair fused together, freezing the air in the room. Ilyd’s eyes slowly darkened.

Since the tea party, her suspicion upon seeing Claudius’s excessive reaction had proven accurate. The mysterious substance in the tea leaves had already been investigated through Letitia.

A few medicinal herbs and a refined white powder found inside the same container as the tea leaves—clearly a drug used for contraception.
