“Are you taking a walk?”

“Yes, I just wanted to walk a little…”

“I will accompany you.”

“Revel. There are many eyes in the palace.”

She recalled warning Revel before about being careful with his words in the palace. This time, it was about being cautious of the gazes. If the nobles roaming the palace happened to see them, who knows what kind of rumors they might spread.

“It’s safe by my side.”

Revel’s response was enigmatic. It was unclear whether he meant he would protect her or take other measures to remain unseen.

But somehow, she trusted him. Could such trust be felt for a stranger?

She hesitated, looking into Revel’s sparkling eyes, which seemed too intense. Rejecting him felt like it would hurt him more. The thoughts she had during the tea time had long been erased.

Finally, Eliade nodded as if entranced.

“Then… please.”

Throughout the walk, there was only silence. It had been a long time since she walked with a stranger in the palace.

Strangely, no one they passed seemed to pay any attention to Eliade and Revel. It wasn’t just because they didn’t pass close by; even from a distance where they could be noticed, no one seemed to care.

Was it some kind of magic? Eliade looked at Revel walking beside her, or rather, looked up at him. Revel was at least a head taller, casting a shadow over her.

One is usually cautious around strangers. Who they are, whether they have ulterior motives – such doubts and calculations are continuous.

Above all, he was someone she needed to win over soon. She had to learn about him through conversation, get closer to him. What should she say first?

After making up her mind, Eliade asked Revel.

“Revel. I have a question.”

“What is it?”

His bright eyes sparkled clearly. Filled with pure anticipation and curiosity, Eliade decided to ask the question she was most curious about.

“Do you… use magic?”

Even as she asked, she realized how absurd the question was.

After a brief moment, Eliade wanted to rewind time, covering her mouth. Who asks someone outright if they use magic?

Magic was a special ability only those born in the Eastern Continent could use. The ‘art’ or supernatural power was like a legend among the people of the Western Continent.

Having never met someone who actually used it, the legend remained just a rumor for Eliade. Now she had just asked him if he could use that mysterious power passed down by word of mouth.

Her face felt strangely hot. Was talking to someone else this awkward and nerve-wracking? She continued stammeringly, unable to organize her flustered thoughts.

“It’s just that, well, people don’t seem to notice your presence at all…”

Her hand involuntarily rose to her flushed cheek. Feeling the coolness of her hand, Eliade managed to regain her composure. She kept making mistakes in front of this man. At this rate, she might end up being ridiculed instead of winning him over.

Revel, observing the faltering Eliade, shook his head with a smile. Despite his imposing aura, his voice was gentle.

“Whether it’s magic or not, I don’t know. I’ve just become accustomed to hiding my presence since my adulthood.”

His answer was inconclusive, but there was no falsehood in his words. Perhaps he had undergone special training or possessed an unknown magical ability.

Who exactly was he? Eliade had no information about Revel’s origins.
Most mercenaries were either retired soldiers or their descendants. Among them, there were also nomads from the north, and I heard there were even those of slave origin.

People who do not even know their own birthplace. For whom receiving a name is the greatest blessing in their life.

Which category did Revel belong to?

“And it seems I inadvertently influence those around me too.”

Revel grabbed the cloak he was wearing on his back and covered Eliade with it. Footsteps approached nearby, but the person passed without noticing Eliade and Revel.

“That’s amazing.”

“It’s what has kept me alive.”

He let the cloak fall and shrugged his shoulders lightly, his attitude casual as if he were dealing with an old friend.

He was a stranger, yet somehow familiar. Was it because they had met at the tavern before? Eliade casually threw a comment at him.

It was a kind of test. If he was perceptive and quick-witted, he might have realized that the woman he met at the tavern was the Empress.

“It’s strange. You don’t seem like a stranger to me.”

“Yes. It is strange.”

A chill momentarily enveloped the air. His tone suggested he had figured everything out about her. The voice that caused a tingling sensation in the listener’s legs circled around Eliade.

“That the woman who was at the center of the commotion in the tavern that day would be in the royal palace.”

She passed the test. Eliade’s lips drew a beautiful arc. She crossed her arms and looked at him casually, as if nothing was wrong.

“You caught me. I just wanted some fresh air and ended up there.”

“Thankfully, Your Majesty’s intervention prevented it from escalating into a bigger issue.”

My Ex-Girlfriend Is The Regent In The Female-dominant World (Male lead transmigrates to the matriarchal world)

Two years ago, Gu Sui picked up a homeless woman in ancient costume from the street.

Apart from occasionally claiming to be a princess from a female-dominant country due to illness, her figure, appearance, intelligence, and martial arts skills were impeccable.

Naturally evolving from roommates to girlfriends, as time went on, Gu Sui found it increasingly difficult to tolerate her queen syndrome.

“Mu Jiulu, can you stop controlling me inside and out? Let’s break up.”

Gu Sui made a breakup call, and since then, he couldn’t find any trace of her.

A year later, Gu Sui, who was planning to move, woke up the next day and found himself in a different place.

“Young Master, today is the day you choose your Wife-master through martial arts competition at Jade Dew Pavilion. Please get up quickly.”

Gu Sui: Who am I? Where am I? What am I doing?

As the only son of a general’s mansion in a female-dominant dynasty, the young empress personally issued a decree allowing Gu Sui to select his Wife-master through martial arts competition. Whoever could defeat him could marry him.

Gu Sui: “……”

He didn’t inherit the original owner’s martial prowess, so anyone could defeat him! And what the hell is a Wife-master?

Forced to come to Jade Dew Pavilion, the densely packed women below made Gu Sui’s agoraphobia act up, and his face was full of resistance.

Until he saw the Regent sitting on the second floor, with a smile on the corner of her lips, her eyes wicked and nonchalant.

Hmm… she looked a little familiar.

It turned out that the Regent also found him a little familiar.

Mu Jiulu fiddled with her bone clasp, her deep gaze locked on the man who was out of place in this world.

“Finally, I found you.”
