Charles, who had called out to the Duke’s Daughter, knelt down and tried to meet Lucy’s eyes, but Lucy immediately averted her gaze toward Daniel’s wound and hardened her expression.
Then she removed the scarf she was wearing and draped it over the tutor’s shoulder.
“The bleeding is deep. You need to see a doctor right away, sir.”
“But Sir Charles doesn’t know the way at all. I’d rather—”
“A knight just tried to kill you, sir. It might actually be better if you don’t go. They’ve clearly changed their plans. The worst possibility is that our information has leaked; the best is that they simply intended to eliminate you, Mr. Daniel.”

Charles asked, having just overheard the conversation.
The tutor, whom he had assumed to be an accomplice, wasn’t only attacked by the knight but was now acting as if he were on the Duke’s Daughter’s side.
This was completely opposite to the situation Lord Duke had described.
“Someone tried to kidnap me by using Mr. Daniel.”
“Kidnap…”
Charles flinched slightly at the word but quickly composed himself and nodded slowly.
Now it made sense. The tutor had been on the enemy’s side from the beginning.

I’m surprised by the intelligence they demonstrate in being able to conspire. I don’t think I had that capacity for conspiracy, let alone adapting a plan in unexpected situations.
I see that they always keep Ariel in the dark, not knowing anything. I think Lucy would be the same if she weren’t a regressor. I wonder if that relationship will continue despite all the lies they tell Ariel.
When someone feels cornered, they do desperate and unimaginable things. What will Bruno plot to avoid being blamed?
