I stared blankly at the comments.
While I, as Angelica, experienced various events during the time in Leo Dell, time continued to flow in reality.
Fortunately, unlike the roughly estimated time that passed in the world of Leo Dell, in reality, it was only a few days, less than a week.
“But so many comments for this?”
It would take at least two to three days for the final clear. Even if it took longer than usual, it wouldn’t be strange enough to be considered.
I quickly skimmed through the comments.
“Why is it said that Angelica doesn’t die because of you???”
“Why does Hades suddenly have a meal with Angelica and go to kill the Demon King;;; The game has gone crazy.”
“[They’re] probably fixing a submarine patch lol.”
“Is there a crazy developer who changes the story with a submarine patch? Is that also a sensational opening?”
“…So it was this.”
My head was spinning. I had never thought about what was happening in reality while I was Angelica.
The reason was simple.
Because the reality that faced me immediately was overwhelming. It was too overwhelming to concentrate on surviving in a suddenly dropped unfamiliar and dangerous world.
“…No, that’s not it.”
My conscience began to prick.
Yes, there was actually another reason.
It wasn’t just overwhelming to survive. I was doing too well in surviving. At least since settling in Donovan, I had enough leisure to think about reality.
“…”
I admitted it.
The reason I hadn’t thought about reality so far was because of Hades Crohn.
Once I got Denesor in my hands and survived, Hades came into my view. I felt sorry for his circumstances, and I wanted to help him with his mission to protect Donovan.
“Hades…”
I called Hades with a voice that no longer felt like mine, but there was no answer.
My eyes were stiff.
I realized one fact.
My ‘reality’ was Hades.
Not this lonely life.
“It’s too late.”
I thought bitterly. I had already exited the game, and the time I spent with Hades was all reflected in the game.
There would be no way to become Angelica again.
“…Is there really no way?”
I turned my head to the computer, which I had completely unplugged the electrical cord just a while ago. It looked no different from the moments before the possession.
“I should give it a try.”
Once I made up my mind, the rest was easy. I quickly plugged the code back in and turned on the computer’s power button.
Legend of Delato.
The title screen of the game appeared in an instant.
I quickly started the game.
The difficulty was the ‘Heavenly Realm,’ which was the culprit of all these events.
Seeing the exquisite graphics, my heart began to race. The world I wanted to return to was inside there.
However, the excitement didn’t last long. Unlike last time, there was no immediate possession of Angelica, and nothing happened. Even contrary to comments saying the game had changed, Leto behaved exactly the same as before, with no difference in memory.
“Ugh…”
A sigh came out involuntarily. A sigh for myself.
“It was a foolish expectation.”
It was natural that I couldn’t go back. Moreover, even if I went back, it shouldn’t have. No matter how much I missed Hades, my real life was here.
“Why?”
A question suddenly arose.
“Who decides between real life and fake life?”
Until a moment ago, I thought being with Hades was my reality. But now, just because I hit a wall, I was rationalizing that this world was real, and Leo Dell was just fake.
My head throbbed. I couldn’t figure out what I really wanted.
“…For now, let’s continue.”
So it went like this.
Continuing this seemingly meaningless game was a judgment close to a reflex action, telling myself that since I didn’t know what I wanted, I should first deal with what was in front of me.
“Huh…?”
I swallowed dry saliva.
Certainly, by this time, Angelica should have joined, but in the mining village, there was no trace of the saint.
My heart began to pound.
“It really changed.”
What I did wasn’t entirely in vain. The in-game Angelica had also escaped from her miserable fate.
I quickly progressed through the game. Skipping various sub-events to see the story as quickly as possible, I hurried Leto’s party toward Donovan Citadel.
Arriving at Donovan Citadel…
“It’s intact?”
The Donovan Citadel here was completely different from the ruins of the original Leo Dell. The half-crumbling ruins were nowhere to be seen, and a giant castle, boasting its imposing presence, stood tall.
So Leto’s party entered the castle.
“…Hades.”
It felt like my heart was tightening.
Hades, who appeared to welcome Leto’s party, wasn’t exactly as remembered due to the implementation of computer graphics.
“He’s much more handsome in real life…”
Seeing the imperfect representation made me miss the real Hades even more. Swallowing a lump in my throat, I observed the screen.
“There I am.”
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
