At those words, Matian’s body visibly stiffened. His blue eyes flickered, as if asking what she meant.

No wonder—he currently held Lucena, who wore nothing but tattered rags barely covering her undergarments, tightly against his bare chest.

It was more than enough to stir suspicion. She needed to explain quickly before any misunderstanding snowballed.

“My leg cramped up—ugh. I can’t move right now.”

Unfortunately, her hands—flustered and trembling—were clearly fumbling over his naked torso.
