At that moment, the Red Vulture, cloaked in black robes, slipped quietly into the laboratory.

“C-catastrophe, Lord Fritz!”

“You again—what now?!”

“All our comrades guarding the central tower have been subdued. The corruption of the Water Ether also failed. And those sent to eliminate the Black Sage only reported that the Golden Elixir isn’t with him—since then, no contact at all.”

“I’ll just make the Golden Elixir myself. Then everything will fall right into my hands.”

Of course, he’d have to hand that Golden Elixir over to the Red Vulture—but as long as he could claim the seat of Black Sage, that didn’t matter.

‘I’ve already stolen the Philosopher’s Stone from Kuran. Now I can finally complete it.’

He did have another Philosopher’s Stone given to him by Gail, but he’d secretly hidden it away.

It was better to use Kuran’s stolen stone than to recklessly consume something Gail had entrusted to him.
