The temple located in the capital.

The High Priest Nain, who had been offering evening prayers, suddenly opened his eyes wide and swayed.

Silver hair brushing his shoulders rippled a beat too late.

Beside him, Chief Priest Jerome tilted his head in confusion as he stood guard over the High Priest.

“Are you all right, Your Holiness?”

“This is serious. The barrier sealing the demon’s egg has just been disturbed.”

“Merciful heavens! Could it be the Red Vulture’s doing again?”

“Most likely. How else could such a powerful curse have been conjured and launched!”

The High Priest hurried out of the prayer chamber and rushed toward his own room.

He flung open his wardrobe and began rummaging through the pile of clothes inside.

“Shall I summon the priests immediately, then?”

“No. At dawn tomorrow, I’ll visit the military academy first. I must meet Lord Wiegartz… In any case, I’ll need to go incognito, so please prepare my disguise.”

The High Priest then quietly muttered to himself, “Might as well visit the Holy Sword’s wielder while I’m at it.”

He started pulling out items from the wardrobe—a pair of thick-rimmed spectacles and a postal worker’s uniform, among other things.

“When on earth did Your Holiness prepare something like this?”
