I Received The Holy Sword By Dawn Delivery (4 Chapters Left to Complete) - Chapter 16
Matian stared at Lucena’s retreating back before looking down intently at his own palm, which had just touched hers.
It hadn’t even been a forceful contact, yet his palm burned as though it were numb and tingling.
‘Was it always like this when touching a man?’
Why did the warm, soft sensation of her palm leave such a vivid impression?
If he claimed that warmth had spread all the way to his heart, bringing him a fleeting sense of peace, he’d surely be deemed insane.
Matian fixed his gaze on his palm, then clenched it tightly into a fist.
This feeling must be due solely to Lucena’s divine power.
Just as he’d once found solace in the Holy Sword long ago.
Perhaps that was why Matian suddenly thought of Lucena as a living Holy Sword—only to shake his head immediately afterward.
That was nonsense.
True, Lucena herself possessed exceptionally strong latent divine power, so in that aspect she might resemble the Holy Sword, but that was where the similarity ended.
“What’s got you staring so hard at your palm, Matian?”
Bolton’s gruff voice pulled him from his reverie.
“Did you hear what happened during the Sacred Arts evaluation? That dunce…”
“I know.”
“Oh, right. You’re just too impressive.”
Bolton grumbled, glancing around before spotting Chad lounging on a hallway windowsill, his face buried in a textbook.
Bolton grinned slyly and snatched the book away.
“Ugh, sunlight… Who took my book?”
Chad rubbed his eyes and sat up. Bolton glanced at Chad’s drowsy face and quickly flipped through the textbook.
He simply couldn’t understand the women who praised that gaunt, exhausted face as “decadently handsome.”
“Tch, as if reading it now will raise your grade.”
Chad yawned lazily while looking at Bolton.
“Yeah, I won’t take advice from someone who’s only second place anyway.”
At the word “second place,” Chad’s shoulders twitched.
His stiffly downturned mouth stretched into a bitter line before he muttered as if nothing mattered, “I don’t care about rankings anyway.”
“Come to think of it, Chad, where were you during the Sacred Arts evaluation?”
“In the next classroom. I substituted my Sacred Arts exam like Matian did.”
“Why? Matian had a valid reason, but you’re not an exception.”
“I’m right after our ever-so-talented Student Council President in the rankings, aren’t I? It’s a matter of fairness—the professor suggested it himself.”
He then added smugly that he’d finished early and decided to nap on the windowsill.
Watching him, Bolton thought Chad was like a sly fox—carefully claiming his share while pretending to be lazy.
Blaming laziness for losing to Matian just didn’t seem manly.
“What are you staring at? Did you insult me in your head, Bolton?”
“Huh? N-no?”
“Liar. Anyway, wasn’t Luca incredible?”
Chad slowly climbed down from the windowsill, rotating his stiff neck from side to side.
“I should’ve signed up for the applied magic course at Luca’s level instead of advanced magical theory. It would’ve been way more fun.”
“Why? Planning to roast that dunce alive during class?”
There was a sharp edge to Bolton’s tone.
After all, Chad had a prior offense of pretending it was an accident while magically tormenting cadets.
Chad chuckled weakly, as if something amused him.
“Ah, come on. I don’t beat people senseless with a smile like Matian does.”
“Right, you’ll just burn them alive with that sleepy look. Since you’re in charge of at-risk student supervision, tell that dunce to do it properly—no more joking around.”
Honestly, all top students had terrible personalities.
Why did a guy like him get assigned to supervise at-risk students?
Bolton shook his head with a tired expression and strode past Chad.
Then, he spotted Zwei and his gang bustling about, nostrils flaring angrily.
“Didn’t you hear me? Find that bastard Lucena Golden right now!”
Zwei, his face flushed beet-red like a sweet potato, was frantically searching for Lucena.

“Wow, our dunce is quite the celebrity now. Everyone’s looking for that dunce everywhere.”
Tsk-tsk. Bolton clicked his tongue, picturing Lucena’s face.
A tiny, pale creature with no backbone whatsoever.
Now that someone with a decent face also had good grades, they suddenly became wildly popular.
[This is the timeline separator]Two hours later, a secluded clearing behind Golden College.
“Master, Vizbi is hurt.”
Lucena, having just finished her last two exams, opened the black pouch she’d hidden away while listening to the Holy Sword’s complaints.
Inside lay the injured griffin.
Ordinarily, evaluation monsters were supposed to be disposed of.
But the moment Lucena saw the griffin’s teary eyes, she couldn’t bring herself to abandon it.
She disinfected the griffin’s wounded leg and carefully wrapped it in bandages.
Even then, the Holy Sword kept grumbling.
“You had two exams left, yet you left me behind in your room and went alone!”
“Call it self-directed learning. Even this Master must learn to survive on her own.”
“So Master survived while all your grades died, then?”
“Yes, I’m truly sorry—so sorry—to have such a zero-scoring Master.”
Lucena brushed off the Holy Sword’s nagging and looked down at the griffin, lying docilely on her lap.
The creature, as large as a hunting hound, obediently accepted her touch.
Perhaps purified and moved by her divine power, its round, eagle-like eyes shone with unusual kindness.
“From now on, I’ll call you Zero-Point Master.”
“Fine. It’s what you wanted.”
Having successfully scored the lowest in two subjects, her average must have plummeted significantly.
Thus, her overall class rank would likely go unnoticed.
“Zero-Point Master, why are you breaking school rules to treat this griffin? Are you still deliberately seeking wrong answers?”
“In the world I came from, there’s a tale about a man who mended a wounded swallow’s leg and received a gourd seed in return—it just popped into my head.”
Who knew? Perhaps planting the gourd seed the griffin brought would yield a gourd full of treasure.
Lucena treated the griffin’s injured leg with a bright smile.
“Yes, you’re referring to Heungbu and Nolbu, aren’t you?”
“Oh, you know that too?”
“It’s among the data I briefly updated when I visited your world once, Master Nolbu.”
“Huh? Why am I Nolbu? I’m Heungbu.”
Lucena corrected the error while stroking the injured griffin.
“Upon reevaluation, you’re definitely Nolbu, Master.”
“Why?”
“Heungbu mended the swallow’s leg after it fell from a tree and broke it; Nolbu broke the swallow’s leg first, then mended it.”
“…Right.”
Just as the Holy Sword said, Lucena herself had injured the griffin. From the griffin’s perspective, this was like giving poison and then the antidote.
Damn it. Lucena sighed, her eyebrows drooping, as she stroked the griffin’s head.
“Mongsil, you won’t bring your sister any weird gourd seeds, will you?”
She’d named it Mongsil because of its fluffy fur, and the griffin, seemingly pleased with the name, pressed its head against Lucena’s leg and purred contentedly.
So cute! Lucena squealed loudly.
Immediately, the Holy Sword spoke up, sounding even more irritable than usual.
“Master Nolbu’s naming skills are truly unsophisticated and naive.”
“Just say ‘tacky’ and be done with it—don’t stretch your words to pick fights.”
Ugh, that ill-tempered Holy Sword. It wasn’t even its name—why act so sulky?
Right, Mongsil? Don’t you like our name?
Lucena scratched under the griffin’s chin and cooed.
“The great Holy Sword Vizbi has just learned a new proverb.”
“…?”
ads
“A rolling stone gathers no moss.”
“Are you jealous, Vizbi?”
“Impossible. Divine mercy and the great Holy Sword know nothing of such petty emotions. Unfamiliar individuals are approaching. Nine seconds remain.”
With that, the Holy Sword went silent.
“Nine seconds? How is that helpful telling me now!”
Lucena, who’d been leaning against the building’s outer wall, quickly peeked around the corner to scan her surroundings.
Just as the Holy Sword said, shadowy figures were converging toward her—she was on the verge of being caught.
“That damn Holy Sword—it waited on purpose because it’s mad!”
Lucena launched the healed griffin skyward.
But the griffin hesitated, circling nearby instead of leaving her side.
“You have to go now, Mongsil!”
At Lucena’s urging, the griffin reluctantly flapped its eagle-like wings.
A whirlwind soon swirled around them, lifting the griffin high into the air.
Though a monster, it could easily pass through the academy’s magical barriers thanks to Lucena’s purification.
After circling twice above Lucena’s head, the griffin vanished into the distant sky.
“4, 3, 2, 1…”
Zero. Lucena counted silently in her mind and turned around.
Zwei, who’d glared at her during Sacred Arts class, stood behind her with his gang.
“You’ve been hiding here like a coward, Lucena Golden.”
Zwei signaled to his cronies, who threw forward the people they’d dragged along.
It was Hans and the potatoes, thoroughly beaten by them.
