Huk, huk!

The one running through the night alleys, fleeing from the guards, was Lukna, a student at Saint Military Academy.

With short platinum blonde hair barely covering the ears and dressed in pants, one could easily mistake her for a man…

‘Just when I thought I was finally adapting to this world I’ve been transported to!’

There were circumstances for her cross-dressing. In fact, she had never been a man, neither in her past life nor in her current one.

How did I end up like this? Lukna gritted her teeth. It was all because of that holy sword she received through Cupang’s dawn delivery. She had merely checked the delivery box and ended up being transported to another world.

‘This damned holy sword!’

Lukna ran with all her might, tightly gripping the circular pendant hanging around her neck.

This was no ordinary pendant. It was the great holy sword that supposedly only the chosen hero could draw, now transformed into a pendant.

‘If I keep holding onto this, I’ll surely be killed by the real owner of the holy sword.’

So, in the dead of night when everyone was asleep, she came here to return the holy sword she had received by delivery to its rightful place, but was spotted by the guards.

At this rate, she might really be accused of being a holy sword thief. Would it be execution if caught?

Just then, the holy sword sent a telepathic message to Lukna.

“Your heart rate is rising rapidly, Master. But your current speed is terrible. 12 seconds until detection by the pursuers.”

Shut up, you stupid sword!

Her blood felt like it was boiling in her neck. She wanted to give up here, but she had no desire to be executed for holy sword theft.

“The pursuer’s speed has increased. Adjusting countdown. 8 seconds remaining.”

They’ve caught up this quickly?

‘What should I do now?’

In the end, Lukna decided to rely on the holy sword one more time.

She could communicate telepathically with the sword using specific commands, and it worked similarly to the artificial intelligence of a certain smartphone.

‘Hi Bixby, find me an escape route.’

Ah, of course, even the name was ridiculously similar. What a sense of naming. It was a familiar name that made her feel like there should be a blue logo embedded in the center of the sword.

“At your current speed, it’s impossible, Master. 5 seconds remaining.”

‘Hi Bixby, then find me a place to hide.’

“Destination found. Turn right 10m ahead. 4 seconds remaining.”

Lukna followed the sword’s guidance and turned her body into the alley 10m ahead.

“2 seconds remaining.”

Where on earth can I hide?

“1 second remaining.”

Simultaneously, thump. A large arm wrapped around Lukna’s body.

‘W-who? I couldn’t sense anyone at all.’

Lukna tried to lift her head to look at the other person, but all she could see was a tall figure and broad back.

The other person was hiding Lukna’s small body with their own.

“0 seconds remaining.”

“Huff, huff, I’m sure they went into this alley!”

It was the voice of the guard who had been chasing Lukna.

Tense, Lukna held her breath and rested her forehead against the large back.

The voice transmitted through her forehead that was pressed against the person.

“What’s the matter?”

That voice was low and steady, and very familiar.

“I’m Morris from the guard. I didn’t know you were here, Young Master Martian.”

Martian Wiegraz.

The top student at the military academy Lukna currently attended and the sole heir to the Grand Duke Wiegraz family.

And a man who extremely disliked repeating the same words.

“I asked what business a guard has here.”

Martian’s voice, usually loaded with kindness, was now unusually cold, as if touched by winter frost. Is it because of me?

Surprised by this unfamiliar side of him, the frightened guard hastily replied, almost biting his tongue.

“Th-th-there was an intruder at the Plaza of Honor where the holy sword was embedded. We thought perhaps the thief who took the holy sword had returned to the scene, so we were chasing them but lost track.”

At those words, Lukna swallowed hard.

‘I didn’t take the holy sword. I received it through dawn delivery!’

But who would believe such words?

Especially Martian, who should have been the original owner of the holy sword, would absolutely not believe her words.

If she were to mention this, he’d probably be even more suspicious.

‘This damn Hi Bixby! Why did you guide me to where this guy was!’

“It was the only place to hide from the guards. Your heart rate is still high. To prevent heart disease, let’s take 3 deep breaths. 0/3”

‘You conscienceless sword!’

Lukna ground her molars while slowly taking deep breaths.

If she didn’t complete this obsessive sword’s quest, it was obvious that more annoying things would happen.

Huuu.

“Deep breath 1/3. Well begun is half done, Master. Your heart rate is decreasing.”

Huuu, huuu.

Every time Lukna’s slow exhales flowed along Martian’s back, his large back, which had been conversing with the guard, flinched.

But Lukna couldn’t pay attention to that much.

“Deep breath 3/3. Completed. Your heart rate has stabilized, Master. On the other hand, Martian Wiegraz’s heart rate is increasing.”

“Then I’ll be going now, Young Master Martian.”

“Very well. I hope you continue to patrol diligently.”

Martian finished his conversation with the guard and slowly turned around.

As he did, his jet-black hair swayed with the momentum, revealing ice-blue eyes like a cold lake between the strands.

He thoroughly scanned Lukna in the dark alley with his sharp gaze.

“Now answer me, Lukna. Why were you being chased by the guards?”

“I-I just came out for a walk and got unlucky. I ran because I was afraid of getting caught out after curfew.”

Despite the difference in status, the two were classmates at the military academy, so Lukna spoke casually as she made her excuse.

“Are you really not involved with the holy sword that was embedded in the plaza?”

“O-of course not! How could I, the worst student in school, pull out the holy sword? Someone like you might be able to pull it out like a radish.”

Haha, Lukna playfully tapped Martian’s arm and quickly withdrew her hand.

Ugh, unnecessarily hard guy.

She made another mental note to absolutely avoid getting into a fight with this guy.

“Of course, I think so too. But why do I keep feeling that you’re suspicious?”

His lips seemed to be smiling kindly, but strangely, an ominous aura was flowing from Martian.

Lukna stiffened her face and took a step back.

“S-suspicious? I’m just out for a walk, I tell you.”

“You? Out for a walk?”

“Well… actually, I was… going to meet a g-girl? Haha.”

She thought this level of excuse would be enough for him to let it slide. But strangely, Martian’s expression hardened even more.

At that moment, the sword’s voice invaded her mind.

“Congratulations, Master!”

‘Does this situation look like one to be congratulated?’

“Martian Wiegraz, who failed to become the owner of the holy sword, has changed his personality to an obsessive maniac type. 91% match with your preferred type of man! Tonight, seduce him and escape your lifelong single status!”

‘Shut up, Bixby. Right now, he…’

Lukna raised her gaze to look up at the majestic school building visible between the alleys.

That place, proudly inscribed as the cradle of imperial male education…

‘He thinks I’m a man.’

It was Saint Military Academy, where only men could enroll.

When male lead is the homewrecker

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!

The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.

Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.

The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.

I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.

There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.

For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.

I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.

Here’s the story synopsis:

One-line summary: She is his lifelong obsession, to the point where he was willing to be a third wheel, scorned by society, just to wedge his way into her relationship with her fiancé.

Cold-hearted and indifferent female lead + Scheming and subservient CEO male lead

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

With blood trickling from his clenched fist, Rong Xiu gazed at the woman before him, his eyes clouded with anguish. Hidden in the wardrobe, he had witnessed Fan Xia – the woman he desperately loved – in an intimate embrace with her fiancé. Yet his heart still yearned for her, defying all reason.

Fan Xia, the elegant and composed assistant, carried something mysterious in her eyes whenever she looked at her fiancé, Wen Lan Sheng. Strange occurrences began to surface – secret meetings with the young Gu Jin Yi, an unexplained withdrawal of 5,000 yuan… Then suddenly, her fiancé’s sister, Wen Jing, violently attacked her.

In this matriarchal society, Rong Xiu had risen to become the chairman of a powerful healthcare conglomerate, breaking through gender prejudices. But for the first time, he willingly stepped into the shadows as the other man, disregarding his friends’ warnings to become her secret lover.

Because he had discovered the truth – Fan Xia wasn’t the pure angel everyone believed her to be. And perhaps, he was the only one capable of helping her execute her mysterious plan…

Intro 2:

Rong Xiu’s biggest regret in life was missing out on Fan Xia.

He secretly loved Fan Xia for 7 years.

Watched her kiss her boyfriend at their wedding.

Until that man blissfully nestled in Fan Xia’s arms, obtaining everything he could only dream of.

The crazy jealousy stripped away his hidden secret love, layer by layer, burning like wildfire.
