While browsing racks filled with dresses of every imaginable style and display cases neatly showcasing hats and shoes, employees in navy-blue dresses approached.

“To have Princess Orwello grace us with a visit is an honor. Had we known in advance, we would have closed the store—but right now, Lord Redford has rented out the entire boutique…”

The manager bowed her head, trailing off at the end of her sentence.

She trembled violently, her face pale with dread—looking so pitiful it was as if a mouse stood before a cat.

To ease the uncomfortable atmosphere, Sydney opened her mouth to speak.

“We came because Lord Redford made a reservation for 1 p.m.… How long must we stand here?”

The manager straightened her back and carefully asked,

“Might you be Lady Marien?”

“Yes, I am. I’ve come as the bridesmaid of my dear friend Marien.”

Every employee, including the manager, instantly turned their gaze toward Sydney. Some were so astonished they covered their mouths with their hands.

It was understandable they’d be flustered—an unmarried woman claiming friendship with both Logan Redford and Victoria Orwello. Still, the manager quickly regained her composure and guided them upstairs.

The second floor consisted of a small lobby furnished with reception tables and sofas, along with four private rooms.

The manager addressed a middle-aged woman who was speaking with staff members.

“Madame Yvonne, Lady Marien and Princess Orwello have arrived.”
