Hearing the word interrogating, Ermedillin abruptly sat up in her bed.

Ermedillin’s repeated questioning made Luiz look troubled as he glanced at Luni and Pellio.

“I will escort you.”

“Alright. Since you have not yet fully recovered, be careful.”

After Luiz left, Ermedillin, supported by Luni and Pellio, headed to the interrogation room where Anri was.

“No one is to be allowed in.”

Though they’d painfully descended many stone steps, the answer from the guards was firm.

“Stand aside. How dare you block the Empress?”

“Even if you are the Empress, without the Emperor’s command, you cannot pass through this door.”

Ermedillin, already anxious due to the faint smell of blood, finally yelled out.

“Move aside now! Move!”

Just as she was about to charge at the guards, Anri’s voice came from within.

“What’s happening outside?”

“The Empress has come to visit.”

After a moment of silence, the heavy iron door opened with a grating noise.

“You’re not yet fully recovered, and you’ve come to interrogate in person? Don’t worry, even though we may only be a couple in name, no one would dare assassinate the Empress. We will certainly find out who’s behind this, so please go back.”

“What about the child, what about the child?”

“What do you mean by that?”

Ermedillin didn’t answer Anri’s question and went directly past him to the boy tied unconscious to a chair.

“I did everything I could, but there was little gain. Someone leaked that the Empress would attend the funeral and gave him the blade, but he cannot remember who it was.”

Ermedillin did not seem to hear Anri’s words.

The boy looked to be unconscious, but she couldn’t tell where he was injured and was unable to easily touch him.

“Cl, clergy! Call Luiz!”

At Ermedillin’s request, Luni and Pellio hurriedly ran into the interrogation room.

“What’s wrong? Are you not feeling well?”

“No, not me. Examine this child right away! Call for him!”

“What?”

Luni looked puzzled as he glanced back and forth between Ermedillin and Anri.

Anri slightly nodded his head, allowing a confused Luni to go fetch Luiz.

“He’s not as injured as he looks. No fatal wounds. Just unconscious.”

Anri said nonchalantly as he wiped the blood off his shoe.

“I see. He’s still alive.”

“Healing him won’t get us more information. Well, it seems he believed the false rumors about the Empress due to losing his entire family to an epidemic. There are many who resent the Empress in this way, so it was easy to instigate the crime and leave no trace.”
The young boy, not yet old enough to properly discern right from wrong, seemed to have stabbed the Empress’s body at someone’s instigation.

“The dagger and the poison on it, along with the place where the boy received the dagger, are all under thorough investigation. The trail will soon be traced. So, Your Majesty, you can use the assassin as you wish without the need to fix anything.”

“Whew, Your Majesty.”

Ermedillin, who had been quietly listening to Henri’s words, sighed deeply and opened her mouth.

“I will not use him after fixing him.”

At her words, Henri smirked as if he knew she would say that, and turned his back to leave the interrogation room.

“I will treat him and take care of him.”

Henri’s steps were halted just as he was about to step out of the interrogation room.

“What did you just say?”
