‘Aye, it must be funny.’

“You’re aware that an imperial delegation from the empire will arrive in a month?”

“Yes.”

“The king commands you to host them as a royal family member.”

“Host?”

“Originally, Princess Laratu was to do it, but she’s too frail to attend this event.”

I immediately understood the king’s intention.

He plans to hide his cherished daughter while the imperial delegation, especially the barbaric foreigners, are in the palace.

I remained silent for a moment, causing the chief steward’s eyes to show dissatisfaction.

“Is there a problem?”

“It’s a bit sudden.”

“You’ve hosted many events for the count’s family, haven’t you?”

“…”

“You may not compare a small count’s event with a royal banquet, but there’s no need to be so worried. Not just me, but the royal maids will help you.”

It could have been a mere formality, but something about it irked me.

“What do you mean?”

The chief steward looked down at me arrogantly.

“Just grace the occasion with your presence as the new princess of Liorssa.”

‘So I should just show up and do nothing else.’

To introduce the new princess to the imperial delegation, specifically the fifth prince.

‘Do they really think they will regard me as a princess?’

Genuinely curious, I examined the chief steward closely. His expression was oddly confident, as if everything would go according to the royal family’s plan.

‘They’re underestimating the empire quite a bit.’

The empire was an odd entity in the kingdom.

Acknowledged for its immense power as the continent’s emperor, but what else? In terms of culture and refinement, they surely can’t match our kingdom, can they?
“A brute but ignorant nation.”

That’s how Liorssa views the Empire with contempt.

Having met the warriors of the Empire, which I’d only heard about, I know this arrogance, but the chief steward here doesn’t seem to realize it.

‘Even so, shouldn’t they take the King of the Desert more seriously?’

From a petty thief’s perspective, both royal and imperial families are equally significant, but to these esteemed nobles, it seems different.

Despite my bafflement, I responded obligingly.

“Understood.”

I’ll use this as an opportunity to expand my connections.

As news of Iggy Lorenst, the adopted daughter of the Lorenst family, becoming a princess spread, various rumors circulated.

However, one thing was significant: the royal family highly valued the contribution of Count Lorenst’s family and rewarded his daughter.

Unaware of the true story, the common people praised the generosity of the royal family and the kindness of Hubert Lorenst.

Iggy Lorenst remained a fortunate woman blessed with a wonderful family.

“I’m asking you, Iggy.”

‘I knew it. Receiving the title didn’t change anything.’

Hubert leaned on one hand while gripping mine tightly with the other. His posture radiated intense distress.

“What is it?”

My voice carried a slight tremble.

Perfect.

The muscles in Hubert’s jaw tightened visibly.

‘Seeing him like this, he’s quite remarkable.’

The way he conveyed the anguish of having to say such things, even to someone who’s been through this situation twice, was convincingly genuine.

“Enter the prince’s chamber. Keep him from showing any interest in Princess Laratu.”

“You want me to be that man’s nightly companion?”

“I know it’s shameless to ask this of you. Especially after you’ve agreed to become a princess.”

“…”

“But there’s no other way. And it’s not something Arias can do. She won’t be able to endure it.”

When I heard this in my previous life, I thought to myself.

What about me?

Back then, I couldn’t dare to ask, too afraid of the answer.

I snickered.

I had already had my throat cut once. What could be scarier than repeating a future I already know?

“So, what about me?”

“Huh?”

“Do you think I can endure it?”

“You are…”

After a brief silence, he whispered.

“I think you’re strong.”

I almost burst into laughter.

Male lead is a Destined Young Husband (Female-dominant)

One-sentence summary: Wife-master, listen to my explanation!

Li Ruantang, a young lady from a prestigious family, stumbled and fell. When she woke up, she saw a noble and beautiful young man sitting by her bedside, wiping away tears.

The young master had slightly reddened eyes, and his every move exuded charm.

The sight made Li Ruantang’s eyes hot and her heart flutter. After all, she had made a bet with the young master Meng from the neighboring family. If she couldn’t marry a husband before the end of the year, she would have to admit defeat and give up the jade she had worked so hard to obtain.

Outside the window, the flowers were in full bloom.

Rather than losing the bet, the jade, and her face, Li Ruantang calculated that it would be better to seek marriage with the young master in front of her, killing three birds with one stone.

…

Meng Jun never thought that an accident during a spring outing would lead to them rolling down a cliff and into a river, yet still survive.

Now they were trapped in an unknown village, and Meng Jun had overheard that the family who had rescued them had their own intentions.

After all, it was Li Ruantang who had lost her mind and sought marriage first. He was only trying to protect himself!

Glancing at Li Ruantang, who was listing her own merits, the young husband’s voice softened, and he blushed as he lied, “W-wife-master, Wife-master, don’t you remember me?”

The young husband’s voice was clear and handsome, coaxing Li Ruantang’s heart to be soft and sweet, and she spared no effort to protect him.

It wasn’t until they returned to the capital that Li Ruantang suddenly remembered.

When they had fallen off the cliff, in order not to implicate Wei Yunruo, whom he secretly admired, the young husband had instead pulled her, who was slightly farther away, down the cliff with him…

Short summary by Yuushi L: Initially, the male lead (ML) liked another girl, while the female lead (FL) liked the ML. Both fell off a cliff. The FL temporarily lost her memory, and the ML, fearing others might take advantage of him, claimed FL was his wife while they were staying in a village. Later, when they returned home, the FL regained her memories and remembered that the ML liked someone else, so she kept her distance from him. However, during their time living together in the countryside, the ML’s view of the FL had completely changed. From this point, his pursuit of the FL begins.
