A smile spread across Sesenia’s face.

“You know perfectly well that isn’t true. Archbishop, more than anyone, you understand—the god left long ago. Don’t you feel your power weakening?”

“Heh heh.”

“Wasn’t your problem precisely this—your pure reliance solely on the god, without seeking any other means? You became mere fools waiting only for his power.”

“Even if you bear the title of Saintess, my lady, your words are growing increasingly excessive.”

At that moment, unlike the silent archbishop, Senior Priest Ray looked at Sesenia with a very uncomfortable expression. Yet Sesenia met their gazes without the slightest flinch or disturbance.
