And with this, she planned not to be bound by any problem. Satisfied, Sesenia looked at him.

“I’ve written everything, Your Highness.”

To let him see, Sesenia turned the parchment towards his line of sight.

However, the Crown Prince’s face stiffened as if he had something quite displeasing.

“That’s strange.”

“What is?”
“[However, during the engagement period, they can break off the engagement at any time if they wish. This is an agreement between both parties, and no responsibility will be asked regarding this. Also, the other party being divorced will not ask for any responsibility regarding this matter.] This part.”

‘As expected, did he notice?’

Certainly, the phrase ‘if the Crown Prince wishes’ should naturally be included in that part.

However, Sesenia intentionally omitted that part. But he noticed it immediately.

‘Maybe he’s not as foolish as I thought.’

“Is there a problem?”

“Well…”

“You lack a lot. So, if there’s anything wrong, please let me know.”

The Crown Prince looked at Sesenia. An innocent face. Cheeks reddened by looking at himself. Seeing that, he stopped thinking.

“No. To call my fiancée lacking. There’s nothing like that. Well, it doesn’t matter.”

The Crown Prince shook his head lightly.

“Is there anything wrong by any chance?”

“No.”

“No, there isn’t. I’ve heard that you should always be clear when writing documents. So if there’s anything wrong, please tell me.”

She had no intention. If there was a mistake, she would correct it.

Sesenia deliberately pushed him further. If there was any intention, Helbert would try to change it in some way.

But if she continued with a tone suggesting no intention, he would just overlook it.

Especially if. Sesenia knew if. Knowing that, she pressured him even more.

“No, the documents are perfect. Let’s leave it like this.”

“No, please. If there’s something wrong, please tell me.”

“It’s done. Then, let’s make one more copy of this draft and keep it each. And when we announce the engagement, let’s get it notarized.”

“You can say it really… Your Highness, you’re a truly gentle person. You just overlook my mistakes.”

Helbert was also very vulnerable to compliments. When Sesenia praised him, he scratched his head and awkwardly smiled.

“Gentle, huh?”

“Really, our sister, who doesn’t know such virtues, seems like a fool. To go on a hunger strike just because she doesn’t want to get engaged to the Crown Prince… At times like this, she really seems foolish.”

“…She’s going on a hunger strike because she doesn’t like me? Eljel Bastele Yeong-ae?”

“Yes. She says she intensely dislikes it.”

“Heh… Did she really say that?”

Words that were never spoken in the past. Sesenia planned to marry Helbert, the Crown Prince, with her sister.

To do that, she had to show a difference from the past.

In any case, the Crown Prince’s feelings were undoubtedly going to Eljel.

By explicitly saying that Eljel didn’t want him, openly saying she didn’t want him. Doing so would stimulate curiosity and make the Crown Prince’s gaze turn toward Eljel.
At the national banquet, although not as it was in the past, if Eljel makes a proper debut, he won’t be able to resist his curiosity.

In the past, even though the Crown Prince was engaged to Sesenia, he kept glancing at Eljel.

He constantly compared Eljel and Sesenia.

His heart was always with Eljel from the beginning. It was no different this time.

Even now, the Crown Prince’s eyes were filled with curiosity about Eljel.

Eljel felt the same. She was told to become the Empress. And Eljel would strive to become the Empress.

For now, she had the option of choosing Ian, who loved and helped her to the end, so she could leave the Crown Prince. But eventually, she would have no choice but to choose the Crown Prince.

‘In the end, they will be engaged.’

Especially if Sesenia knows that the engagement with the Crown Prince was easier than she thought.

“Let’s keep that document a secret from the adults.”

“Huh? Why would we do that?”

“Well, if nothing happens, our engagement will be maintained. If the adults find out about the document in that situation, they might be sad. Let’s reveal it when there’s a problem.”

“I see. You’re quite a good woman, aren’t you?”

Of course, that wasn’t the intended meaning.

If it became known that such a document was written, the Viscount would undoubtedly try to destroy it in any way possible.

‘That can’t happen.’

In her heart, she wanted to throw the annulment letter into the Crown Prince’s face.

But she didn’t have the unplanned intention. Helbert. He was her husband and her fiance, making this not the right time to feed him dung.

To feed him dung properly, this was the only way.

When male lead is the homewrecker

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!

The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.

Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.

The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.

I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.

There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.

For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.

I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.

Here’s the story synopsis:

One-line summary: She is his lifelong obsession, to the point where he was willing to be a third wheel, scorned by society, just to wedge his way into her relationship with her fiancé.

Cold-hearted and indifferent female lead + Scheming and subservient CEO male lead

Intro 1:

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

With blood trickling from his clenched fist, Rong Xiu gazed at the woman before him, his eyes clouded with anguish. Hidden in the wardrobe, he had witnessed Fan Xia – the woman he desperately loved – in an intimate embrace with her fiancé. Yet his heart still yearned for her, defying all reason.

Fan Xia, the elegant and composed assistant, carried something mysterious in her eyes whenever she looked at her fiancé, Wen Lan Sheng. Strange occurrences began to surface – secret meetings with the young Gu Jin Yi, an unexplained withdrawal of 5,000 yuan… Then suddenly, her fiancé’s sister, Wen Jing, violently attacked her.

In this matriarchal society, Rong Xiu had risen to become the chairman of a powerful healthcare conglomerate, breaking through gender prejudices. But for the first time, he willingly stepped into the shadows as the other man, disregarding his friends’ warnings to become her secret lover.

Because he had discovered the truth – Fan Xia wasn’t the pure angel everyone believed her to be. And perhaps, he was the only one capable of helping her execute her mysterious plan…

Intro 2:

Rong Xiu’s biggest regret in life was missing out on Fan Xia.

He secretly loved Fan Xia for 7 years.

Watched her go public with her boyfriend.

Watched her kiss her boyfriend at their wedding.

Until that man blissfully nestled in Fan Xia’s arms, obtaining everything he could only dream of.

The crazy jealousy stripped away his hidden secret love, layer by layer, burning like wildfire.

Fan Xia, how can I have you!
