As Illeon had said, Grerosa was an underground city. Beside a sizable circular plaza, tiered spaces carved into the bedrock stretched out in layers.

When High Priest Alejandro ordered them to move to Grerosa, Elicia had imagined a gloomy shelter-like place, given that the clergy had relocated en masse due to the disaster of Hadyunsha collapsing.

Contrary to her expectations, the interior brimmed with liveliness. Crowds bustled busily through the plaza and the surrounding marketplace.

“What’s with those outfits?”

“Are you asking me that?”

While some still wore their plain white clerical robes, others passed by in a riot of bizarre attire—long sleeves, short sleeves, daringly short pants exposing limbs, or tight short skirts revealing their figures.

Tiny flames, each covered by a hemispherical glass shade set atop short candles, were densely scattered everywhere, creating a starry world beneath the earth. Every shop hung signs and sold clothes, food, and other goods, packed tightly into layered spaces stacked like building blocks.

The highest point of this uneven underground city rose seven or eight stories high, and at the very top, a round hole pierced the distant ceiling, letting in faint, almost meaningless sunlight.

“Don’t panic. Drawing unnecessary attention won’t do us any good.”

Illeon hid in the shadows between buildings and swiftly wrapped bandages around his eyes and face, partially concealing them.

“When did you even get those?”

“From the storage room earlier. There was nothing they didn’t have.”
