“Hold me for a while,” Elysia’s voice trembled with belated uneasiness.

Ileion, pretending not to notice, obediently embraced her. In the firm arms that seemed to ward off all the trials of the world, she gradually became accustomed to the familiar scent and found her heart calming down.

“Ileion, I was so scared.”

“Yeah.”

As he gently comforted her with cautious strokes on her back, Elysia felt like being a bit playful.

“I was really scared…”

In response to her murmuring words, Ileion unexpectedly replied with a surprising remark.

“Me too.”

Me too? Did he mean there was something he was scared of? Elysia, who had been facing his chest as if probing into it all along, lifted her head.

“Do you have something you’re scared of too?”

With a somewhat puzzled tone, she asked, and Ileion chuckled as if he found it amusing.

“I didn’t have, but now I do.”

Now he did? Elysia blinked, and Ileion, with a slightly annoyed expression, roughly stroked her head.

“Do you know how surprised I was? Why did you enter the prayer room after seeing Saviel? It was more surprising than when arrows rained like a storm on the battlefield or when a sword was at my throat.”

When Elysia hesitated to say something in response to his unexpected revelation, he urged her to speak and lifted his chin as if to say, “Go on.”

“Well, um… How did you avoid arrows raining like a storm?”

It was an irrelevant curiosity. With an astonished expression, Ileion looked flabbergasted.

“You’re curious about that now?”

“You were the one who brought it up first.”

“Even if I warned you to be careful because it’s dangerous, you didn’t listen even with your ears.”

“This is inside Haedumsha. I thought it wouldn’t be known that I returned as a priest today.”

That was true. That’s why she had let her guard down.

Thinking Ileion had come to see her again.

“I thought it would be you. There’s no one else who would come to see me except Ileion.”

Because it was so casual, she didn’t even miss her parents so much. Sometimes, when Mariela and Jilian visited, she wanted to go home, unable to understand why she had to go to such lengths to avoid the unrealized death.

By growing up, she had become accustomed to the life in the sanctuary, and it wasn’t as difficult for her as it would be for Haedumsha, who had lived as a Duke for 17 years. She thought that way.

Seeing Elysia looking gloomy, Ileion sighed.

“Did it sound like blaming? That wasn’t my intention. I just worried too much about you.”

“Thank you, Ileion.”

Elysia looked at him, who was trying to relieve her mood, and faintly smiled.

“I couldn’t even thank you because I was so preoccupied. If you hadn’t helped me…”

She paused for a moment.

“I might have stabbed him again and stained my hands with blood.”

“Again? What do you mean by that?”

At his questioning, Elysia calmly opened her mouth.

“Just as it is. It means that I’ve stabbed Saviel before.”

“When?”

Ileion’s gaze sent a chill through the air.
Intense and vibrant, the red eyes could appear cold as well.

“At Lake Lorel. I stabbed him and escaped.”

Elysia had never detailed the experiences she went through to Ileion.

“Anyway, I’m not the type to just stand there and take it. And…”

For some reason, Elysia’s explanation sounded somewhat awkward.

“I really thought it wouldn’t be dangerous here.”

“Nothing is certain.”

Ileion cut off Elysia’s words with a cold tone.

“If I hadn’t been there today.”

A large hand with firm calluses delicately stroked her cheek.

Then, the conversation didn’t continue.

Elysia seemed to know the reason.

Ileion wouldn’t want to even mention the future where she might be wrong.

“Thank you.”

Elysia touched her cheek to Ileion’s hand.

“I was fortunate to have you.”

In that moment, Ileion swiftly pulled her as if catching her off guard.

“Ah.”

As her vision flipped, Elysia found herself lying on the bed in no time.

Ileion, who enclosed her under his arm, gazed down at her with burning red eyes.

“Just words?”

“…”

Elysia was bewildered by Ileion’s sudden action. Seizing the opportunity, he took advantage.

The modest and narrow bed was now filled with his presence.

Every time they tangled their breaths and shared them, Elysia could feel Ileion’s persistent desire for her throughout her entire body.

Though only lips touched, the heart pounded as if something was malfunctioning, sending anticipation coursing through her veins from fingertips to toes.

As they separated their lips after a long time, Ileion opened his eyes slightly and smiled.

“You’ve become more beautiful.”

Caressing her flushed cheeks and lips with his fingertips, he asked, “Now, tell me.”

“…”

Elysia, half-drowned in a lazy excitement, was startled by his actions. She opened her mouth widely, and he seized the opportunity as if waiting for it.

“I can’t show you what’s inside. How would you know what I haven’t said?”

“I…”

“Should I just watch you silently as you turn away and distance yourself from me? Is that what you want?”

“No.”

Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day

It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!

This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.

The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.

Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.

If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.

It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.

The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.

In the end, everything will come together and be explained.

One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!

In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.

Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.

However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.

Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.

Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?

——

Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.

His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.

Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”

——

The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.

Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!

Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!

The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…

——

But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.

The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.

She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…

Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”

Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”

Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

[Small Theater]

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.

Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”

Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.

Zhu Wansheng: ?

Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…

On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.

Warm breath lingers on her neck.

“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
