As time passes, the connection between Illeon and Karina will become stronger.

And the coercive power imposed on Elysia, who should only exist between them as a ‘setting’, will also be counted.
Iris was not a possessed person like Elysia.

She had been a war slave sold in the slave market, and Mariela rescued her. While staying at the Duke’s house, she soon learned that the Duke’s wife, who treated her kindly like a daughter, had a daughter even younger than herself who had become a novice.

Iris originally knew how to handle herbs. She wanted to help the Duke’s wife, who made her a free woman by creating her identification, but the Duke’s wife, who had no ‘common ground’ on this matter, eventually showed Iris the notebook .

Meanwhile, she protected young Elysia and helped Mariela in guiding her to Haddonsha.

She didn’t expect things to get so complicated when Elysia left for Glerosa, especially with a day’s delay due to stomach pains.

‘I should have been there for Miss Elysia.’

All the priests who were there were killed. Knowing this, Iris lost Elysia, whom she had protected like a younger sister, and it was a shock in itself.

And now, it wasn’t just protecting Elysia; Sonatec was the problem. He was determined to ruin this world.

“Do the gods have nothing to say about this?”

Esho shook his head nervously.

“It’s the same. The five gods of this world and Oder refuse Sonatec’s existence.”

“I see.”

Some of the priests could communicate directly with the gods.

The sudden visit of the Roben and Esho brothers to Mariela was an unexpected event one day.

They told her that they came to her because they hoped the gods would help her.

The ability to receive divine trust was related to the understanding of the original. Generally, only those who read from start to finish could become high priests who received divine trust. Those who occasionally read it, even if they were possessed individuals, remained as trainee priests unable to receive divine trust.

Unexpectedly, Iris, unlike anyone expected, became a reader of Mariela’s notebook.

However, even though Iris read Mariela’s notebook, she couldn’t receive divine trust like Elysia, so her presence was considered special.

“He plans to kill Elysia.”

Iris trembled as she prepared the antidote for the paralysis poison.

The detoxification potion contained ingredients so potent that even after Elysia regained consciousness, she was likely to experience repeated symptoms of dizziness and discomfort.

“Sonatec often reads the prophecies.”

Roben and Esho were monitoring whether Sonatec would come to Haddonsha.

“Is he trying to change the original again?”

“I don’t know. Lately, he’s been coming to see it once every day or two. It seems like there might be an intention.”

“Has there been any change in the content?”

Esho shrugged.

“Not yet. Sis, don’t worry too much; I’m watching carefully too.”

Iris looked at the small, dark prayer room window.
“I hope Elysia returns to Haddonsha quickly.”

It would have been less anxious if she was brought back before her eyes.

There was some commotion when they returned to the Grand Mansion.

“Did you have a good trip, Your Highness, the Princess?”

“Yes. Bernard. You seem relaxed too.”

“I’m relieved that you returned safely, Your Highness.”

Between those who hadn’t seen each other for a long time, there was a pleasant conversation.

In the position of a servant, Bernard, who had been asked by his sponsor not to speak during the sponsored date, wanted to be the first to talk to Elysia, who suddenly disappeared and returned. However, facing the returned young mistress Elysia, he couldn’t ignore Lady Lev and the owner, Ileone, and hurriedly poured out his joy to her.

“What happened? Miss Elysia. Are you hurt? You look fearless. I’m glad. But what’s with the outfit?”

Elysia, wearing a simple, undecorated hood inside out, asked, looking at Mariela standing beside her.

“Who is this…?”

A subtle feeling of embarrassment crossed Elysia’s face, which was generally expressionless.

Seeing that, Ileone felt uncomfortable.

“Bernard, the butler who takes care of the Grand Duke’s household.”

When Ileone spoke with a firm tone, Elysia greeted the butler, clasping her hands in front of her chest and slightly bowing her head.

“May the blessings of the five gods and Oder be with you. I am Elysia.”

Receiving her greeting, the butler looked at Ileone with confused eyes.

“Where will I be staying?”

Where else? It’s the Grand Duke’s room. I worked so hard to clean that room in a hurry. It was when the butler couldn’t speak straight.

“Bernard, prepare a guest room for the guest.”

With those words, Ileone turned around and went to his room, leaving briskly.

“Miss Elysia?”

Elysia, who was watching Ileone’s back with her eyes, wore the mask of ignorance and faced the butler.

Returning to the room, Ileone was engulfed in complex emotions.

“Haah.”

It felt suffocating to the point of madness.

“Sonatec?”

Someone was trying to control him like a scarecrow.

The uncomfortable feeling didn’t go away.

Ever since he heard that there is a book that meticulously records his life, he felt someone was peeking at him.

“Is this why they called it an almost taboo act.”

Even Elysia, who said she wouldn’t believe in predetermined fate, came to mind.

“Leaving for Haddonsha.”

What angered Ileone the most was precisely that point.

That Elysia doesn’t even try to make an effort.

She doesn’t even consider trying.

For a woman, for someone else, it was the first time he had been drawn so intensely.

Even when he was blind, he yearned for her so desperately and, as the one who kept him in his dark world, she was more special than anyone else.

But it wasn’t like that.
She opened her eyes, and everything had returned to normal, but could her absence alone be so bitter and painful?

It was the first love emotion felt by the indifferent man.

Suddenly, a book on the desk caught his eye.

“Paleraga War History.”

Ileone tapped the book cover with his fingertips.

“Begging so foolishly like this. It’s unlike me.”

He stood up and picked up the book.

“If Elysia won’t do it, I can only make an effort for her share.”

Still, going to meet Elysia was both anticipated and feared. He wondered how long he could endure her sending emotionless looks.

Knock, knock.

When he knocked on the guest room door, Elysia opened it.

“Let’s talk for a moment.”

She hesitated, but Elysia stepped aside to let Ileone in.

“Do you have something to say?”

Ileone hesitated on how to start the conversation, then abruptly handed her the book.

“Do you remember this book?”

At that moment, Elysia’s gaze shook a little.

‘I remember.’

It was a clearly knowing look. The expression when she recalled what this book was.

Ileone urgently asked,

“Elysia, you know this? You remember it?”

“…Yes. I know.”

When male lead is the homewrecker

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!

The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.

Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.

The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.

I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.

There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.

For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.

I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.

Here’s the story synopsis:

One-line summary: She is his lifelong obsession, to the point where he was willing to be a third wheel, scorned by society, just to wedge his way into her relationship with her fiancé.

Cold-hearted and indifferent female lead + Scheming and subservient CEO male lead

Intro 1:

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

With blood trickling from his clenched fist, Rong Xiu gazed at the woman before him, his eyes clouded with anguish. Hidden in the wardrobe, he had witnessed Fan Xia – the woman he desperately loved – in an intimate embrace with her fiancé. Yet his heart still yearned for her, defying all reason.

Fan Xia, the elegant and composed assistant, carried something mysterious in her eyes whenever she looked at her fiancé, Wen Lan Sheng. Strange occurrences began to surface – secret meetings with the young Gu Jin Yi, an unexplained withdrawal of 5,000 yuan… Then suddenly, her fiancé’s sister, Wen Jing, violently attacked her.

In this matriarchal society, Rong Xiu had risen to become the chairman of a powerful healthcare conglomerate, breaking through gender prejudices. But for the first time, he willingly stepped into the shadows as the other man, disregarding his friends’ warnings to become her secret lover.

Because he had discovered the truth – Fan Xia wasn’t the pure angel everyone believed her to be. And perhaps, he was the only one capable of helping her execute her mysterious plan…

Intro 2:

Rong Xiu’s biggest regret in life was missing out on Fan Xia.

He secretly loved Fan Xia for 7 years.

Watched her go public with her boyfriend.

Watched her kiss her boyfriend at their wedding.

Until that man blissfully nestled in Fan Xia’s arms, obtaining everything he could only dream of.

The crazy jealousy stripped away his hidden secret love, layer by layer, burning like wildfire.

Fan Xia, how can I have you!
