Preparations for today’s event had been underway for days, with the kitchen bustling with activities like slaughtering pigs for sausages and preparing drinks for the post-training feast.

“Ugh.”

His breath between his lips felt scorchingly hot, as if he had run a long distance without rest, his heart thudding loudly.

“Tell them to wait for one hour. No, make it thirty minutes.”

“What about now?”

Kyan swiftly entered his bedroom and slammed the door shut.

His hands trembled and felt sweaty.

He abruptly stopped undressing and headed to the bathroom.

The cold water from the tap showered over him as he thrust his head underneath.

Clodel’s breath sounded like an auditory hallucination.

“Uh.”

The illusion of Clodel’s slender arms climbing over Kyan’s shoulders coiled around his consciousness like a snake ready to strike.

“Ugh. Ugh.”
While he was lost in ecstasy, she barely endured the invasion, letting out pained sounds. But each time, it was Kyan who felt devoured by Clodel.

“What on earth was she thinking, saying such a thing?”

“Wanting to sleep together every day.”

That was precisely what Kyan had deeply desired, yet he had always pretended to be oblivious to his own longing.

It was a shock to him that he had unknowingly embraced a woman struggling on the verge of death.

“How could you not know! The lady was so visibly ill, and even you, the closest lord, were unaware!”

“You didn’t notice her body had become so frail, with not a bit of flesh on it.”

Kyan thought, how could I know? But upon reflection, if he had been more attentive and caring, he might have realized.

It wasn’t her first time with a man, but it was her first with a woman’s body.

He was accustomed to robust men with bulging muscles, tossing clothes aside and mingling without regard for rank in the baths.

Regardless of being a woman.

Her emaciated state should have been a concern. Kyan thought he had fulfilled his duty by being careful and gentle, fearing that he might break her fragile body.

Now, seeing Clodel recovering and regaining vitality, he was unsure of the right time to approach her again.

Part of him worried she might see him as a horrible aggressor.

He had enjoyed their nights together immensely, but feared Clodel perceived those moments as shame, degradation, and unbearable pain.

Raping a woman was an act of lowlifes ignorant of gentlemanly manners and chivalry.

Kyan was aware that some depraved nobles indulged in such behavior, but he was certainly not one of them.

Raised almost ascetically under the strict guidance of his predecessor, he learned to act without shame as the Duke of Temnes, the Lord of Rowen, and the son of a princess.

Even if the other party was that Belmont, he had no intention of assaulting Clodel, so pondering what had transpired while she was unconscious was both disheartening and frustrating.

Just earlier, as Clodel hesitated to accept the dessert he offered and then suddenly collapsed, dropping her fork, his reflex was to catch her.

The fresh and pleasant scent of her struck him as soon as he held her.

That alone almost made Kyan lose his composure, but he calmly tried to wake her by gently tapping her cheek.

“But can you come to my room tonight?”

Who could have imagined that the first thing she would say upon waking would be such a request?

Her moist, golden-brown eyes were as clear and beautiful as if a rich portion of amber was embedded in them.

The softly whispered words of the shy woman lingered in his ears.

“Damn it.”

He could go to her room right now.

If only it weren’t for those elite knights.
Every day it’s “Lord, Lord, our Lord is the best,” those brats who brag about beheading a buffalo, now making so much fuss. Men, all of them.

Kyan cooled his unjust anger and unsubsiding body heat with cold water for a long time.

He couldn’t remember how the meticulously prepared banquet ended in the past few days.

While the burly men were boisterously drinking away, his mind was already at Clodel’s door.

When he finally reached the familiar door, his heart fluttered with anticipation.

Opening the bedroom door, Clodel greeted him with a bright smile, sitting on the bed.

“Are you here?”

The fact that she waited and welcomed him was surprising.

“I didn’t really expect you to come. Thank you.”

Thankful? It is I who am grateful.

All this time, a beast suppressed within him was now clamoring inside Kyan, longing to be unleashed.

“I have severe insomnia, and I can’t sleep alone. I’ve been unable to sleep properly for a while now.”

“Insomnia?”

Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day

It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!

This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.

The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.

Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.

If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.

It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.

The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.

In the end, everything will come together and be explained.

One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!

In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.

Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.

However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.

Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.

Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?

——

Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.

His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.

Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”

——

The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.

Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!

Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!

The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…

——

But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.

The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.

She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…

Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”

Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”

Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

[Small Theater]

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.

Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”

Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.

Zhu Wansheng: ?

Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…

On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.

Warm breath lingers on her neck.

“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
