“I want to sleep together every night.”

“…What?”

Kyan made a stunned sound.

Clodel clung to him desperately. Only those who have never experienced insomnia can’t truly understand it.

Yesterday, today, and likely tomorrow, the continuous sleepless nights drained her vitality and gnawed at her body.

It felt as if her brain, dried and unable to function properly, had turned into a stale loaf of bread.

Having shaken off the agony and fear of death caused by her illness, it seemed insomnia had come to take its turn, leaving Clodel drained.

“Can you come to my bedroom tonight?”

On one hand, she still found her situation pitiable.

Kyan was her family’s enemy.

She wasn’t entirely devoid of the ingrained aversion to Temnes, having been indoctrinated for years.

But this man, who held the power of life and death over her from the enemy’s family, didn’t leave her to die, didn’t seem too pleased about her impending death, and seemed to treat her somewhat as a wife.

She had no choice but to cling to the slightest hope and ask him.

Until Kyan got her medicine for her illness, Clodel hadn’t realized the severity of her insomnia.

When it first started, she was only ten years old.

Still young and naive, more overwhelmed by the events causing her insomnia than the condition itself.

Her comfortable home vanished overnight.

Her father’s death, coming before she could even comprehend her mother’s absence, left her feeling lost and afraid.

Insomnia stemmed from those emotions. She struggled just to bear and suppress that sorrow, and as long as she could sleep with Hanna, it didn’t matter, so she had forgotten about her insomnia for years until it returned after the treatment for her illness.

But when it returned, it was unbearably intense.

Just a few sleepless nights, and it felt like her mind was being torn apart by a monster, her consciousness becoming increasingly foggy.

She continued seeing the doctor and dining with Kyan, perhaps due to the anxiety of being surrounded by enemies, like being thrown into the heart of hostile territory.

But the extreme tension, coupled with the physical and mental exhaustion from insomnia, led to her dozing off during meals, like a narcoleptic.

“If it’s not too much for you. Yes?”

Kyan seemed surprised but soon picked her up and laid her down in bed.

“We’d better stop eating then.”

“…You’ll come?”

“I will.”

Only then did Clodel feel relieved.

There was no reason for Kyan to break his promise.

“I’ll be waiting.”

Watching Kyan head out of the bedroom, Clodel smiled.

‘Tonight, I might be able to sleep.’

With this newfound hope, she felt she could endure the excruciating headache until the evening.

After leaving Clodel’s bedroom, Kyan headed to his own.

His butler, waiting outside, hurried after him.

“Aren’t you going to the office?”

Kyan coldly commanded with a stern face.

“Cancel the afternoon schedule.”

“Why suddenly?”

The butler was flustered.
“There’s an elite knight training session this afternoon. Afterwards, there’s a gathering to commend those who accompanied you on the recent buffalo hunt.”

The schedule Kyan had ordered to be canceled was one he had carefully arranged.

The knights who had been hastily mobilized to fetch Clodel’s medicine were Kyan’s most trusted elites.

They were bound by such loyalty that they would die or leap into fire or water if Kyan commanded.

Even these men grumbled, “Am I being dragged into this just to fetch some medicine for a Belmont woman?”

If Kyan was regarded as the most disdainful towards Belmont within the Temnes household, it was natural for the elite knights, who were the core force preparing for the regional wars and had an inherent aversion to just hearing the name Belmont, to be agitated.

Their concerns, “Am I really doing this to save a Belmont?” had become a reality.

Kyan had no thoughts of divorcing Clodel, though their marriage was a command by the king.

The Temnes family and retainers probably expected Belmont to be miserably ousted from the land of Rowen under his cold treatment.

Initially, Kyan felt repulsed and humiliated to forcibly reconcile with Belmont through marriage.

But that was before he knew Clodel.

Not that he knew her well now.

Was sharing nights, the intimacy of men and women in the darkness, special enough to forget years of hatred?

He couldn’t leave Clodel to die.

He could have ended the bloodline of his enemy without spilling a drop of blood, simply pushing her into the gaping jaws of her illness, yet he couldn’t do that to her.

He couldn’t fully understand why, but he thought it was because she was too trivial and weak.

Cunning Belmonts.

Terrible people who sliced others with their sharp tongues.

Clodel had none of those despised traits.

Nevertheless, his decision to save her had hurt the pride of his loyal subjects, so as the head of the house, he needed to commend them and reassert Clodel’s position within the family.

My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband

This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.

They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.

In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.

When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.

She makes his life a living hell.

And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.

Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!

Intro

Dong Xia lost her memory.

Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”

Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.

…

The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.

She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.

Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.

No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!

Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂

*

Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.

The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.

In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.

The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.

And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.

Notes:

1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.

2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
