“Maybe next month there will be a good show. I hope it will be entertaining.”

The marriage of Kain and Princess Bianke seemed an absurd idea.

A marriage with the princess would elevate Kain’s position in the line of succession to the throne, as he was already second in line after Bianke, bypassing the late Duchess Elise.

He would be next in line until Valkyter had children.

The thought of that detestable man potentially becoming the next king depending on Valkyter’s wellbeing made Valkyter’s blood boil.

Marriage is a tomb of life.

That phrase greatly appealed to Valkyter.

He planned to thrust that child into a marriage as mucky and pitiful as a mire, making him unable to escape.

He had endured without marrying while Kain was on the battlefield for five years.

Then came an unexpected proposal from the cunning Duke of Belmont.

“Since Temnes can’t divide and fight on multiple fronts, it’s better to preserve a mouthpiece for the kingdom.”

The whole affair was quite beneficial.

No matter how outstanding Kain was, he couldn’t divide himself to fight in the east and west simultaneously.

On the other hand, Belmont’s diplomacy involved the entire house. Not just the duke, but anyone from the family could engage in negotiations, making them useful.

What if Temnes and Belmont clashed and Belmont lost despite Kain’s support?

Whether they fought or not, both were his subjects. Valkyter had no responsibility to bear.

“A typical Belmont scheme.”

The battle had already begun.

Watching from above, Valkyter felt only excitement.

A group of knights from the loyal House of Berang in the Lowen domain barged in.

“What is the meaning of this!”

The aging lady of House Berang was a relative of Temnes.

Though married to a vassal and her surname changed to Berang, her lustrous black hair spoke of her lineage.

Caught off guard by the sudden intrusion of the lord’s guards, she raised her voice, knowing that taking action as a Temnes would more likely resolve the matter smoothly.

“We’ve harbored a thief.”

But when Kain entered among the knights, her demeanor changed instantly.

“My lord.”

She immediately bowed her head.

“What brings you here?”

“I’m here to retrieve something.”

A thief? She knew her daughter Antoyne adored Kain and flaunted her status among the young ladies at the lord’s castle, but she considered it nothing more than her pretty daughter’s coquetry.

“I’ll retrieve it myself.”

Antoyne’s room was delicately decorated.

Soft-colored wallpaper with flower paintings, dried flower bouquets tied with ribbons on the walls – it still had the air of a young girl’s room rather than a lady’s.

“Uh-huh. Hehehe.”

Antoyne, sitting at her vanity, admired herself in the mirror with a blue diamond ring on her finger.

She posed similarly to the portrait of Duchess Elise in the lord’s castle, looking extremely beautiful and elegant. Even her negligee seemed like a party dress.

“Lady Antoyne.”

She lifted her chin, and the beauty in the mirror smiled back at her.

Clunk.

Startled by the door opening, Antoyne snapped irritably.

“I told you not to open my door without permission!”

“What a spectacle.”

Frozen by the cold, arrogant voice of a man, she stiffened.

“To become a duchess, one must have an unblemished background. Theft is a crime that leaves evidence. You can now forget such dreams.”

Horrified, Antoyne opened her mouth but was unable to speak.
When Kain attempted to remove the blue diamond ring from Antoyne’s finger, she instinctively tried to clench her fingers.

“Ouch!”

However, his forceful removal was faster, causing Antoyne to sprain her finger momentarily.

Her once beautifully adorned hand, just moments ago shimmering with the ring, quickly swelled red and puffy.

“Ah…”

Staring blankly at her finger, Antoyne was forcefully lifted.

“Take her away.”

Antoyne was seized by knights on both sides and dragged away.

Kain spoke to the lady of the house, who was akin to his great-aunt.

“The charge is theft.”

He left without fully explaining what or whose item was stolen, and she couldn’t hold him back.

“Ah, Antoyne. What have you done…”

Overwhelmed and shocked by the sight of her daughter being dragged out of the house, she collapsed on the spot.

“Aaah!”

Screams echoed from afar as a woman was being whipped.

“Kyaaah!”

Antoyne was tied up and beaten with a club for stealing from the lord.

Theft of valuables was a serious crime.

Kain looked at the blue diamond on his desk.

It was an heirloom left by his mother.

He knew the special significance attached to such an item.

Even if she was a brat, how could she lack the sense to discern this much?

Kain was exasperated.

The blue diamond was his.

He had given it to Clodel as a wedding gift, but she had neither seen nor received it.

So, it was Kain’s ring.

‘But, my lord, I didn’t know it belonged to you.’

The punishment for stealing something from Kain, the head of the house, and for intercepting a gift he had sent differed.

My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband

This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.

They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.

In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.

When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.

She makes his life a living hell.

And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.

Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!

Intro

Dong Xia lost her memory.

Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”

Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.

…

The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.

She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.

Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.

No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!

Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂

*

Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.

The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.

In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.

The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.

And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.

Notes:

1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.

2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
