“I came out from the local police station.”

Someone must have reported it—officers had been dispatched from the station and were now holding back Ji Seo Jun. Only then did Han Tae I, who had been smoothing out his wrinkled clothes after Ji Seo Jun finally stepped away from him, speak up.

“It’s nothing serious. We just got a bit heated over a misunderstanding.”

“A misunderstanding?”

At the word “misunderstanding,” Ji Seo Jun flinched, prompting the officers to quickly step in between them.

“Please don’t get worked up. Let’s settle this through conversation… with words, okay?”

“Seo Jun-ah, just hold back, alright?”

When even I started trying to calm him down, Ji Seo Jun finally managed to regain composure. This was only the second time I’d seen him this agitated—since Section Chief Kim.

“Please think of your girlfriend and restrain yourself.”

Trying to resolve things as peacefully as possible, the officers continued to reason with Ji Seo Jun, while Han Tae I, who had been watching from the side like a bystander, let out a quiet chuckle. The officers turned toward him and asked,

“Did you approach her with ulterior motives? A perfectly respectable-looking man like you shouldn’t be acting this way.”

Apparently, from the officers’ perspective, it looked as though Han Tae I had made a scene with me, and Ji Seo Jun, as my boyfriend, had gotten furious upon finding out.

“Me? With Moon Da Yul?”

Han Tae I finally realized what they’d misunderstood and burst into loud laughter. Seeing this, the officers frowned, so he quickly stopped laughing and waved his hands dismissively.

“It’s not like that… but if I had to explain, I’m just not really into tough girls like her.”
