“Sleep?”
“No.”
We hurried into the tent due to the bugs that swarmed as time passed, and Ji Seo Joon, who was scared out of his wits. People outside laughed and enjoyed whatever they were doing, and the children were running around.
“I should have brought my laptop.”
If we had been in Seoul, it would have been the time when we’d still be wide awake, but lying down in the tent to sleep, sleep was bound to be elusive.
“Did we move? Why did you bring so much?”
“Well, that’s because we’re just lying here staring at the lantern.”
Upon hearing my words, Ji Seo Joon suddenly turned his body to lie on his side, fixing his head with one arm, looking at me.
“Then look at me.”
“Pfft, pfft. Kkk. Ah. That’s funny. Hahaha.”
Upon seeing me suddenly burst into laughter, he raised one eyebrow.
“You, you’re good at saying cheesy things,”
“What?”
“No, I didn’t know. Kkk. Ah, let me calm down first.”
I got up from my spot, took deep breaths, and tried to hold back the laughter that kept trying to break out.
“No, it’s just so unlike you to say lines that would appear in a drama, when you’re usually just scolding me or keeping your mouth shut.”
As soon as my words ended, he got up from his spot.
“When did I only scold you?”
“Why don’t you put your hand on your heart and say it?”
At my words, Ji Seo Joon raised his right hand and tried to put it towards my heart.
“Get it away.”
Instead, he placed it on his own heart, nodded his head, and then returned his right hand to its place.
“Still… I felt like I had to express it.”
“Huh?”
“Just like you said, my girlfriend’s sensitivity is as low as a deer’s urine. If I don’t express it like this, you will quickly forget and go back to being a 29yearold friend.”
Dangerous.
This time, I had to raise my arm and put my hand on my chest. As expected, my heartbeats weren’t regular, they were running wild.
“Why? Did you have a heart attack?”
Ji Seo Joon, who was smirking and laughing at my situation, asked.
“No, I was just surprised!”
“There are many things to be surprised about.”
Then, he lay back down in his spot and looked at the round bulb that was lit inside. Ji Seo Joon, who had turned back to my side, closed his eyes.
“Sleep?”
“Yeah.”
I got up from my spot, turned off the lantern, and left only the beautifully twinkling bulb.
“Goodnight.”
“You too.”
The yellow light was flickering on and off. The sound of a stream, the noise of small insects, the sound of suppressed footsteps were the only things I could hear.
Mixed with these sounds, the soft breathing of Ji Seo Joon came from right next to me. I was so startled that I had to toss and turn for a while.
And so, the night of our first camping trip was coming to an end.
“You really are something, you’ve eaten a lot.”
Because much of the food I had bought in abundance was gone, it was much easier to pack up.
“Did I eat it alone? Huh?”
In truth, I had eaten a lot. There was no rest for my mouth. Isn’t that what everyone does when they go out to play? Just a moment ago, I had finished off a bag of snacks.
Having barely set up the tent and cleaned up after disassembling it, I was filled with regret.
In the car, leaving the campsite after everything was packed up,
“Are we going here?”
I was surprised to see the location entered in the car’s navigation.
“Why are we going here.”
It was a beach that would take over an hour to drive to from here.
That place was exactly where, 12 years ago, I had run away in a sort of escape.
“Why. It’s nice to go there after a long time.”
In fact, that beach was a very famous one. Having vaguely left home, I was pondering where to go at the terminal when the idea of visiting that beach came to mind, so I impulsively bought a ticket and went.
“Isn’t that a page from the passionate youth of Moon Da Yul?”
Ji Seo Joon teased with a smirk.
“Let’s go somewhere else.”
“No can do. I booked a place there.”
Ah… I felt like I knew why Ji Seo Joon had kept it hidden.
Luckily or unluckily, the traffic was clear, and we could reach the beach faster than expected. As a famous tourist attraction, it offered a beautiful view. But it didn’t quite appeal to me as our first travel destination.

‘Knock knock.’
Ji Seo Joon, who had stretched his legs after getting out of the car, came over to the passenger side and knocked on the window.
“Aren’t you getting out?”
Reluctantly, I opened the car door and got out. As soon as I got out of the car, the salty air rushed into my nostrils.
“Let’s check in later, let’s take a round first.”
I followed behind Ji Seo Joon, walking listlessly. Then, I saw a swing at the quiet end of the beach was vacant, and Ji Seo Joon brushed it off, shook the sand off with his hand, and tapped it as if telling me to sit.
Slowly, I placed my bottom on the swing.
“Is it not allowed to swing vigorously?”
“I got it.”
Ji Seo Joon, who spoke as if he were comforting a child, firmly secured the swing with his long legs so it wouldn’t move.
“This place has changed a lot, too.”
“Of course. It’s been over 10 years…”
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
