“What are you doing out here?”
I asked him as I discarded the shattered pieces of glass.
“I’ve known for 29 years that you are tactless, but I didn’t realize it was this severe.”
One day, I was determined to smooth out his frown with an iron.
That was the thought that crossed my mind as I saw his face, muttering something to me with a grimace.
“Why did I come out! Isn’t it obvious that I had some business to attend to?”
“I came out because of you! Why else would I have come out?”
“Because of me?”
“Yes. Because of you.”
Why did he come out because of me? I tilted my head and followed him as he walked off into the distance.
