Stella had no desire to meet again the man who had introduced her as the owner of the Red Bat Guild. Yet, by some twist of fate, the café he took them to was where Ian Blake was waiting.

At first, she thought he might be with the man, but that wasn’t the case.

Daren was stepping into a café for the first time in his life. The place was filled with quaint trinkets and packed with elegantly dressed young ladies and sharply groomed young men.

Watching them, Daren suddenly thought it would be nice to bring Brin here—but quickly shook his head.

‘Why am I thinking of Brin all of a sudden?’

But his mind was already filled with the image of Brin sitting here, sipping tea and smiling brightly.

Unaware of Daren’s thoughts, the man led them not to where Ian was seated, but to another table.

“This café serves excellent milk tea and strawberry cake. I brought along a very skilled chef.”

“So this is your establishment, sir.”

“I dabble in various ventures. Ah, I’ve neglected to introduce myself. I’m Pamellio, head of the Pine Guild and father of that useless rascal you met earlier.”

He was the owner of the Pine Guild and the wealthiest man in the district. Though he was merely a commoner and nothing more than a merchant, few dared treat him carelessly due to his deep connections with the nobility.

“I’m Daren. And this is my younger sister, Ludina.”

Daren recalled the false name Princess Stella had given Jack and answered accordingly. Introducing them as siblings seemed the safest option.

Stella was quite pleased with Daren’s quick-witted reply.

“I heard you’re selling carrots.”
