I Didn't Really Want to Do Farming! (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 41
There were quite a few shops selling seeds or seedlings. Each store carried some plants Stella recognized, but there were also many she’d never seen before.
The seed vendors varied widely—from street stalls like the one Daren and Stella had run, to fairly large shops—offering diverse sizes and types.
Among the countless stores, what caught Stella’s eye was a shabby street stall run by an old woman at the end of the road. The stall had few seed varieties and a poor location, so hardly any customers came by.
As if entranced, Stella approached and crouched down in front of the old woman’s stall.
“A pretty young lady like you wants to take up farming?”
“Yes. I thought I’d try planting a few things.”
“Hmm. I sense good energy in you. Everything you grow will flourish wonderfully. You were born for this.”
The old woman wore a worn brown robe pulled low over her face, covering half of it down to her nose. All that was visible were her small, wrinkled lips.
“That’s good to hear. What kind of seeds are these?”
Stella asked with a gentle smile, picking up one of the baskets. Inside lay rather large seeds. She’d shown them to Daren too, but he’d shaken his head with a puzzled look, clearly unfamiliar with them as well.
“Sugar peanuts.”
“Does such a thing exist? Daren, have you ever heard of it?”
“No. I’ve never heard of it before. Granny, you’re not trying to scam us, are you?”
When Daren eyed her suspiciously, the old woman snatched the basket Stella had been holding.
“I’m not selling. Go away.”
