“Tell them to come in.”

Stella was extremely curious—had she sold all the carrots she’d taken, and if so, for how much? If Daren and Brin had decided to deceive her, there’d be no way to avoid being tricked, but for now, she had no choice but to trust them.

“Yes, Princess.”

Milla left the room again and returned shortly after with the two of them. Judging by her unusually curious eyes, she was just as eager to hear the outcome.

“Did you sell all the carrots?”

Daren and Brin exchanged glances as if they’d planned it, grinned at each other, then nodded toward Stella.

“Yes, Princess! We sold every single one—nothing left!”

“Really?”

Seeing how delighted Stella was, Brin, caught up in the excitement herself, recalled the day’s events and spoke with an animated voice.

“We bought a street vendor permit, but they gave us such a terrible corner spot! I really wanted to complain, but the owner of Moonlight Guild was so intimidating I couldn’t say a word. Honestly, his biceps were as thick as my waist! I’ve never seen anyone with so much muscle in my whole life!”

Earlier, she couldn’t even speak a word when face to face, but now that she seemed to have grown a bit closer, Brin chattered on without pause. Her detailed explanation was good, except for one problem—she wasn’t saying the most important part.

Unable to hold back any longer, Mila interrupted Brin.

“Brin, start with how you sold the carrots.”

Only then did Brin snap back to her senses, making an “Oops!” face before starting her explanation again. Her voice was calmer now, having settled her earlier excitement.

Beside her, Daren still watched with a nervous expression, but Brin paid him no mind.
