Iver sat cross-legged with a serious expression. Though not particularly patient, she had remained seated for quite a while, and the other earth fairies watched her curiously yet quietly from her side.

Esta and Ark had long since gone off with Vella to share hidden sugar-coated peanuts, and only Oton—who was relatively more patient—sat with arms folded, observing Iver’s condition.

Just as even Oton’s eyelids grew heavy, Iver, who had been sitting utterly still, began trembling at the fingertips. Startled and instantly wide awake, Oton jumped up from her seat and hurried over to Iver’s side.

She then checked Iver’s complexion and carefully placed a hand on her forehead to see if she had a fever.

“Phew, thank goodness.”

If side effects occurred, one would burn with fever, and in severe cases, could be bedridden for an entire week. Fortunately, it seemed the situation Oton had worried about hadn’t happened.

“Huh? Is Iver sick?”

Esta and Ark, who had been in the middle of sharing sugar-coated peanuts, came running over with wide eyes and asked. Though they looked very concerned, the sweet scent puffing from their mouths made it hard to take their worry seriously.

“No, it’s fine. It seems the effects are finally starting to show.”

“Whoa! Does that mean Iver will grow twice as big like Vella?”

Ark pointed to Vella standing beside him. Vella’s body had grown larger, and her face had changed slightly too.

Originally, she’d had a rabbit-like mouth that wiggled when she ate, but now a small, sharp beak like a chick’s had sprouted.

Her awkward mouth—neither rabbit nor bird—looked extremely funny, but after being pecked several times by Vella’s beak for laughing openly in front of her, no one dared laugh out loud anymore.

“Silly! Vella’s supposed to grow, that’s why it happens. You and I are already fully grown. We won’t get any bigger.”
