“Princess Stella’s maid is going around buying weapons?”

Ian’s brow furrowed mercilessly as he asked with an incredulous expression.

It was a face as beautiful as if drawn, but devoid of any warmth, making the aide who had just begun his report feel as if he were standing on thin ice that could crack at any moment.

To avoid showing his tension, he slowly regulated his breathing and continued in the calmest voice possible. If he showed even the slightest sign of shrinking or lacking confidence, he wouldn’t be standing here the next day.

“Yes. She entered the weapon district with Cookus from the Moonlight Guild.”

Recalling Cookus’s massive muscles, Ian’s expression hardened even more than before.

“Destination?”

“K-Karl’s leather workshop.”

Unintentionally stuttering, he felt his heart sink. He expected a sharp glare to fly at him any second, but Ian, distracted by something else, seemed not to notice the aide’s stammer.

“Who?”

At the unfamiliar name, Ian’s voice involuntarily sharpened. He was only satisfied when he knew everything, so anyone not in his information network always made him sensitive.

“He runs the oldest and shabbiest shop in the weapon district. With almost no customers, in the past week, only Cookus and the maid have entered that shop.”

To avoid irritating Ian, the aide quickly added. He had to prove he was always prepared to answer any question.

“A shabby shop, yet Cookus and the princess’s maid went there specifically?”
