I Didn't Really Want to Do Farming! (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 141
At Prindella’s question, the physician smiled so gently that the corners of his eyes drooped downward, then nodded reassuringly as if to say not to worry.
“It’s not a deadly poison. With an ointment of this quality, the wound will heal cleanly without leaving a single scar. It’s made from the finest medicinal ingredients, after all.”
“Good. You’ve done well.”
Hearing the physician’s confident assurance, Prindella finally seemed relieved and let out a long sigh before speaking.
“Then I shall take my leave.”
The physician met the eyes of both women in turn, bowed politely at the waist, and exited the reception room. His speech, gait, and even his smile were impeccably courteous and composed.
Now, aside from the maids, only Stella and Prindella remained in the reception room. Everyone else had either returned home or stayed behind at the tea party venue to chat.
A maid brought in freshly brewed tea and refreshments, but since Stella had already been eating silently throughout the tea party, she had no desire to touch them.
“This is a medicinal tea good for inflammation. Think of it as medicine and drink it.”
Duchess Prindella spoke in a deliberately stern tone as she glanced at the teacup placed before Stella.
“Yes, thank you.”
Stella still couldn’t quite figure out how to interpret Duchess Prindella’s attentiveness, which extended even to the smallest details.
She was grateful for the kindness shown to her now, yet she couldn’t help wondering if there might be some hidden motive behind it.
While sorting through her thoughts, Stella took a sip of the tea. True to its description as medicinal, the initial taste was sweet, but left a bitter aftertaste lingering in her mouth—a strangely compelling tea that made one keep drinking to dispel the bitterness.
Prindella watched Stella closely as she sat across from her, sipping the tea in small, delicate gulps. If her daughter had lived, she would be about Stella’s age now. Born with a weak heart, the child hadn’t even survived a hundred days.
