Who could Cassian be?

How many times had I imagined this?

When we first started exchanging letters in earnest, I even listed noble families with my mother.

“Anette. Why don’t you just ask him?”

“But I don’t want to make Cassian uncomfortable. I don’t want to lose my only friend.”

As a child, I genuinely didn’t want to lose Cassian, with whom I felt a true connection.

So I looked at Cassian only as I saw him, only as I felt him.

Yet, I was still so curious.

While wandering the Academy, even during my debutante ball.

Could that person possibly be Cassian? I had kept thinking that.

I’d even subtly observed people without letting on.

But now, seated before me was a man who fit none of the characters I’d imagined.

“You are the Young Count of Valosone, correct?”

A man with silvery hair, resembling the Milky Way, that reached down to his waist.

It was Michael, who had been beside Serdis not long ago.

“You’re Cassian?”

“Disappointed, aren’t you?”

Michael spoke sullenly, looking at my surprised face.

“No, it’s not disappointment, it’s surprise. You are really Cassian.”

Honestly, I would have been surprised regardless of who it was.

It was just a little more shocking because the person I had recently seen turned out to be Cassian.

“So that’s why you said you knew me so well last time.”

There was no one who knew me as well as Cassian did.

“Are you really Cassian? The Young Count, you are?”

It was hard to believe immediately. Someone could have known about the relationship between me and Cassian and pretended to be him.

With skeptical eyes, he opened the lid of the box beside him.

“It’s natural to doubt. If a person whose name and face I didn’t even know claimed to be a longtime friend, I’d doubt them first too.”

The box he handed me was filled with blue letters. Letters I had sent when I was longing for the sea in the summer.

“My God.”

I involuntarily exclaimed with joy. Michael looked at me and grinned.

“Why don’t you read it after a long time?”

“I’ll read it.”

The number 33 written on the envelope told me how old the letter was. It was a letter I had sent to Cassian quite early on. It brought back memories of that time when I had sent the letter with hesitant handwriting, not fully opening the doors of my heart.

“It’s been years but it looks like it was just sent.”

The condition of the letter was surprising. As if each had been meticulously cared for, they were neatly stacked in the box.

“You didn’t keep all the letters, did you?”

“I stored them by color. Not one is missing.”

“I didn’t even know that….”

My face flushed with shame.

A few of the letters I had received had torn and faded. I had tried to keep them in a drawer, but I hadn’t been so meticulous.

“It’s okay. I didn’t send those letters expecting you to do that. I should be the one to apologize. I knew Anette while you didn’t know me for a long time.”

He lowered his eyes gently. As his long eyelashes went down, a gloomy atmosphere emanated.

“I couldn’t reveal it for a long time due to family issues.”

He spoke with a choked voice.

“Speak comfortably.”

Now that I knew he was Cassian, there was no need for formal speech.

“Shall I?”

As I nodded, Michael lifted his eyes and smiled brightly.

“You too, speak comfortably.”

“I will. So, have those family issues been resolved?”

Cassian had been very reticent about his family in his letters. I knew that, so I couldn’t even bring up the subject of his identity or lineage. The conversation was mostly onesided, coming from me.

‘The Count of Valosone’s family is not an ordinary one.’

Although no domestic issues had been publicized, the Valosone Count’s family was famous for their intensive education from a young age. This had led them to produce many talents and always hold a high position in politics.

“Yeah. I think there won’t be any more headaches. If things go like this, I can safely inherit the family.”

“That’s good to hear.”
Mikael had undoubtedly received the same kind of education. That’s why, surpassing his two brothers, he became a subearl. He had also become Serdis’ temporary aide.

I sipped water and casually asked him.

“Last time you mentioned you became the aide to the prince.”

“Yeah.”

“Why did you get into that?”

I knew that Serdis admired the competent Mikael. Standing behind Serdis, who is the sole heir to the emperor, would surely be advantageous for the future.

‘Could it be for revenge?’

Suddenly, a recent letter crossed my mind.

The letter where I’d gossiped about dating Serdis. And right after, I mentioned I would find a partner for a contract marriage.

What had Cassian said then?

[What happened? If you’re in a situation where you need help, let me know right away. I’ll do whatever it takes to help.]

He definitely said that.

‘It was the first time Cassian offered to take the initiative.’

I hadn’t given it much thought since the letters had stopped for a while.

“I know you’ve had some dealings with Lord Serdis.”

My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband

This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.

They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.

In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.

When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.

She makes his life a living hell.

And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.

Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!

Intro

Dong Xia lost her memory.

Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”

Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.

…

The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.

She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.

Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.

No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!

Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂

*

Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.

The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.

In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.

The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.

And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.

Notes:

1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.

2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
