“Documents containing testimonies of Matop magicians. Evidence that the person who broke into the Star Palace a few days ago is related to Duke Evan. So, you can investigate by going there.”
Only then did he carefully read the documents on the table.
“What is this?”
“Testimonies from Matop magicians. Investigate and see if there’s a trace of the mastermind behind the person who broke into this place a few days ago. The results of the investigation from Matop seem to flow towards Duke Evan. Is this telling me to investigate?”
“There shouldn’t be a problem with the investigation. Duke Evan will have to open the door. What excuse can the person who infiltrated the Star Palace, where the Empress and the Crown Prince are, without permission, give? Through that person, we can find Jibsa Belzell.”
Everything has been revealed. There is no perfect lie in the world. Eventually, evidence is left behind in some way. Until now, I have erased those pieces of evidence with power, but not anymore.
I, who have more power than the Duke, will step forward.
“Is it okay to do that?”
“Of course. It’s not like there’s anything else. The person who tried to attack the Star Palace, where the Empress and the Crown Prince are, will be held responsible. Of course, if it comes to that, Ron won’t be safe either, but he was just used. And Ron, who tried to attack us, is already gone.”
Lian Dero, who was exhaling a deep sigh, nodded as if he understood.
“I won’t ask him any sins, so don’t worry. But what I’m curious about is not that. I’m worried that you might get hurt. Are the people who delivered these documents trustworthy?”
“Yes, they are trustworthy people. Even if they are not, it’s okay. I will take responsibility. Evan Duke will undoubtedly say that someone plotted against them. I’ll bring the ones who wrote this and confront them directly. They will resist strongly. At that time, sell me out.”
“You can’t do that.”
“No. That’s the most reasonable way.”
For them, there is no faster perfect way to reach the end than me becoming a perfect villain.
And I am already a villain to them. The one who needs to be eliminated. Originally, there should be one villain so that the rest can be neatly organized.
And if that villain disturbs them on their own, they will try to eliminate the villain without even preparing.
I wish for that. That they move like that. That they move thoughtlessly to eliminate the villain.
“…I understand. Then go right away.”
“Yes. And… it’s Leudelro’s birthday.”
“There’s not much time left. You told me to prepare as splendidly as possible last time, so I’m preparing, but…”
“Originally, I was going to do everything… but I didn’t know anything… because I didn’t know anything…”
In the novel, the birthday celebration where Leudelro was acknowledged as the Crown Prince was said to be simpler than expected.
Perhaps there was no one to come, so there was no reason to make it grand. If they made it big and guests didn’t come, it would have been more damaging to their pride.
“But there might be fewer guests. It’s probably…”
“More than before…”
Before, in the previous life, there will be more people than in the novel.
“Previous?”
“Oh, no. Since we already announced the fact that I am the Crown Prince at our wedding, there will be many people coming.”
In the novel, an invitation to the Crown Prince’s birthday celebration was suddenly made, and people would have hesitated to come or not.
The situation was such that they didn’t even know who Leudelro’s mother was. If they had known that the child’s mother was Beatrice, Evan’s younger brother, would things have been different?…
“Not revealing it means Beatrice eventually intended to push the child to the limit.”
The Crown Prince’s first recognized birthday celebration. However, if there are not many guests at the event, the child might think that no one acknowledges them.
In the midst of that, if people around them say things like “You are a child abandoned by your biological mother, everyone hates you,” the child will crumble even more.
Leudelro was an imperfect child.
Although he pretended to be confident and lonely more than anyone else, he was actually a child who paid a lot of attention.
He had that kind of temperament, and Beatrice, his biological mother, would know better than anyone. So, in this way, Beatrice made Leudelro feel lonely, and it worked in the novel.
But not anymore. Now that I am here.
“I will have letters sent to each family.”
“Is it okay? We haven’t had much interaction with them until now…”
I can’t guarantee it. They might be cautious about the Duke’s intentions. But I have no intention of making it simple.”
“Nobles who have turned from the noble faction to the imperial faction will also come.”
“Let’s also call people from the magic tower and the temple. Let’s fill it with people, even if they are not nobles. We’ll make it more splendid than any other party. We can invite the imperial courtiers who don’t usually come out to events. So, by the way, can I give separate clothes as gifts to Leudelro’s close friends?”
Even though I am the Empress, I didn’t have any money.
Every time I wanted to do something, worries about the imperial family’s money always came first.
“Of course. You can spend as much as you want. It’s okay to give gifts to everyone coming. Everything in the imperial family is yours.”
“Thank you. Oh, and one more thing… Can I invite the former Emperor, Laheul?”
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
