Dietrich kicked the flank of Retel, the famed steed of the Delgado family, prompting the horse to toss its white mane and surge forward.

Even amidst scenery as picturesque as a painting, Dietrich kept his eyes fixed straight ahead as he made his way toward the palace.

As he passed through the corridor inside the palace lined with portraits of past emperors, Dietrich’s expression remained astonishingly indifferent.

Without sparing even a glance for the palace maids and servants who peeked at him as he walked by, he arrived directly before the audience chamber.

“Tell them I’ve arrived.”

He gave a slight nod to the knight guarding the chamber door, who immediately snapped to attention and replied without delay.

“Yes, yes! Understood.”

The knight didn’t even ask for his identity.

After all, there was no one in the empire who didn’t know Dietrich Delgado.
