“Oh dear, oops.”

The man who caught me just before I toppled backward from shock chuckled awkwardly.

“Sorry. Didn’t mean to scare you.”

Clutching desperately at the towel draped over my shoulder, I was momentarily speechless at the sight of the enormous man before me.

A long scar ran from his right forehead all the way down to the tip of his left jaw.

Though the wound had fully healed, the stark scar left behind seemed to silently tell of the pain he’d endured back then.

“Oh—you were startled by my face, weren’t you? Haha, how embarrassing. Now I feel even more sorry.”

Despite his fearsome appearance, the man offered a strangely gentle, sincere smile.

His burly frame contrasted sharply with his kind tone, and my tension eased. I bowed my head politely.

“Hello. Is Lord Dietrich here by any chance?”

“Prince Dietrich?”

His eyes lit up at the name “Dietrich,” and he stretched out an arm, pointing somewhere in the distance.

Following the direction of his hand, I turned to see Dietrich swinging a sword far off in the distance.

“He’s been training since he arrived earlier. But who are you?”
