“What’s wrong. Your eyes are red, making you look more like a puppy than usual. Hey, who is it?”

“I said it’s not.”

Unable to properly enunciate due to his cheek being grabbed, somehow he understood and responded. It was Deon.

‘He looks like Dad.’

Then Liche observed the face before her.

Normally, she had not noticed his fierce look due to his slightly upturned eyes.

He looked serious, resembling Blake. Liche pulled away Deon’s hand that was holding her cheek.

“Brother.”

“Speak up. Who is it?”

Liche turned and buried herself in Deon’s arms.

Deon stared at the back of Liche’s head with disbelief.

“What are you doing? You think this will just pass?”

He was grumbling, but the corners of his mouth twitched.

“Brother, I want to see Dad.”

Just hearing that Ean met Blake, her longing erupted.

She couldn’t bring the single family photo from the Ludwick estate.

Even when she looked in the mirror, there was no resemblance to Blake, which sometimes made her feel lonely.

It had already been three weeks since she started attending the academy.

Blake usually returned in three weeks when he left for a hunting trip. She had never been apart this long.

It seemed she got the homesickness she had only heard about from the people at the Ludwick estate.

“What, did you cry because of that?”

“Hm? Yeah.”

Not really, but let’s go with it.

As Liche nodded, Deon ruffled her hair.

“Fool?”

Why is he picking a fight all of a sudden?

Liche lifted her head. Deon was staring at her with a look of disbelief.

“Just go.”

“Where?”

“To see Father.”

“When?”

“On the weekend.”

“…Really?! Can we go?!”

“…Are you locked up?”

Of course we can go. Just need to apply for a pass.

Deon began to drag Liche, who had started asking various questions, by her hand.

“Let’s eat first. You said you were hungry.”

“Seems like Liche is in a good mood today?”

Robenhalf spoke as he sat down at the dining table that was set.

Although he arrived a bit late, the seats across from Deon and Liche were always empty, essentially reserved for Robenhalf.

“She cried.”

“What? Why?”

At Deon’s words, Robenhalf looked surprised and stared at Liche.

Because she was chewing on bread, Liche quickly shook her head.

She gave Deon a look that questioned why he was saying that, but Deon continued to ignore her.

“She misses Father.”

“Count Ludwick?”

She cried because of that? …Cute.

Robenhalf took a sip of water and quietly calmed his heart.

In the meantime, Liche, who had swallowed her bread, whispered to Deon.

“Why tell that to Robenhalf? Embarrassing.”

“Liche, what are you two talking about? Won’t you share?”

Deon heard Liche’s words and then spoke to the still-smiling Robenhalf.

“Robenhalf.”

“Yes, Derkedion.”

“My sister won’t be here this weekend, so don’t come looking.”

“Since when—”

A grape was shoved into Liche’s mouth who was about to explain. It was Deon’s doing.

Why is he like this? Really.

“Speak after you chew.”

“…”

“It’s okay, Liche. I’m used to Derkedion’s arbitrary words.”

As he said, Robenhalf was still smiling as if he had not been affected at all.

‘Derkedion’s restraint doesn’t bother me.’

Considering how far he had come to be Liche’s close brother.

That was nothing.

More importantly, he had news to share with Liche.

“Liche, I have good news. Should I share?”

Good news? Liche nodded as she swallowed the grape.

Robenhalf shared the news he had heard from a professor before coming to the dining hall, making him a bit late for dinner.

“The Dessert Research Club has been officially established.”

“Really? That’s great.”
Riche’s face brightened. Good news seemed to come all at once.

On top of worrying about Ian’s sleepwalking, her concerns about Deon joining a club were also alleviated.

“When does the club activity start?”

“Um, I think it would be good to gather the day after tomorrow. We’ll have to discuss how we’ll operate then.”

Riche nodded her head.

“Okay. Where shall we meet? The empty classroom from last time?”

“No.”

Robenhaf’s eyes twinkled. In fact, he had expected to easily get permission to start the club.

The real achievement was what came next.

Robenhaf spoke to Riche, excited at the prospect of showing off his capabilities.

“In our club room.”

“Is the club room special?”

Riche asked Ian as they walked down the hallway together. On the opposite side of Riche, Zekebert was walking next to her, yawning.

“Yeah. Normally, new clubs share one shabby room among three. You can only get a club room once you’ve built up some activity records.”

“…Then aren’t we disqualified? We’re a leisure club.”

“Exactly.”

Although Robenhaf’s extensive student council network played a role in this, neither Riche nor Ian knew about it.

Zekebert had witnessed this background as a bird but had no interest in the subject and had no intention of joining the conversation.

“Riche.”

What piqued Zekebert’s interest was something else.

Zekebert, who had been listening to the two’s conversation, called out to Riche.

When male lead is the homewrecker

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!

The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.

Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.

The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.

I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.

There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.

For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.

I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.

Here’s the story synopsis:

One-line summary: She is his lifelong obsession, to the point where he was willing to be a third wheel, scorned by society, just to wedge his way into her relationship with her fiancé.

Cold-hearted and indifferent female lead + Scheming and subservient CEO male lead

Intro 1:

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

With blood trickling from his clenched fist, Rong Xiu gazed at the woman before him, his eyes clouded with anguish. Hidden in the wardrobe, he had witnessed Fan Xia – the woman he desperately loved – in an intimate embrace with her fiancé. Yet his heart still yearned for her, defying all reason.

Fan Xia, the elegant and composed assistant, carried something mysterious in her eyes whenever she looked at her fiancé, Wen Lan Sheng. Strange occurrences began to surface – secret meetings with the young Gu Jin Yi, an unexplained withdrawal of 5,000 yuan… Then suddenly, her fiancé’s sister, Wen Jing, violently attacked her.

In this matriarchal society, Rong Xiu had risen to become the chairman of a powerful healthcare conglomerate, breaking through gender prejudices. But for the first time, he willingly stepped into the shadows as the other man, disregarding his friends’ warnings to become her secret lover.

Because he had discovered the truth – Fan Xia wasn’t the pure angel everyone believed her to be. And perhaps, he was the only one capable of helping her execute her mysterious plan…

Intro 2:

Rong Xiu’s biggest regret in life was missing out on Fan Xia.

He secretly loved Fan Xia for 7 years.

Watched her go public with her boyfriend.

Watched her kiss her boyfriend at their wedding.

Until that man blissfully nestled in Fan Xia’s arms, obtaining everything he could only dream of.

The crazy jealousy stripped away his hidden secret love, layer by layer, burning like wildfire.

Fan Xia, how can I have you!
