Although the first investigation had already suggested the Demonic Sect’s involvement, it was dismissed inconclusively—after all, the Demonic Sect hadn’t directly extended its reach into the Central Plains for nearly a century, so no one could be certain.

The second investigation followed a similar path. Though there were various differences, both shared the same failure to conduct a proper inquiry.
