In truth, what the Clan Head truly wanted to tell me was probably just that part—that he didn’t blame me at all. The rest was likely just words that slipped out as he kept talking.

But that “rest” was so shocking that I felt utterly dumbfounded.

I barely managed to form the sentence. The Clan Head chuckled softly and replied,

I let out an involuntary sigh.
