Meanwhile, Haheun was taught and protected for entirely different reasons.

That child had lost her family to violence and survived alone. Perhaps because of that, she matured far too early, and even her innate disposition was gentle. She was thoughtful, often lost in contemplation, and had understood even from a young age that not just anyone could wield a sword.

Thus, while practicing alone was fine, the first time she sparred—even with a wooden sword—she struggled to even point it at her opponent.

“Her temperament isn’t quite that of a martial artist.”

Because of this, even though he knew she had grown considerably, Yuwon still worried about letting her out of his care.

Of course, regardless of her natural disposition, unlike Hahyeon, Haheun would never cross the basic line of morality—even without Yuwon by her side.

Moreover, despite her docile nature, she possessed a resilient strength; he knew she had the inner fortitude to overcome any injury on her own if the worst ever happened.

Yet, despite knowing this, he couldn’t help but feel this way—how could he let a child who had already suffered so much endure more pain?

Yuwon was somewhat aware that he was especially lenient toward Haheun. He understood it, but this helplessness was precisely what such feelings were.

As the Sect Leader had once said, if she were from a noble family, she’d be old enough to have established her own household—but whenever Yuwon looked at Haheun, he still saw the twelve-year-old girl who’d sobbed alone in a corner of an empty storeroom shortly after he’d brought her to Mount Hua.

What troubled him further was that, despite her gentle nature, Haheun possessed extraordinary talent.

“Ever since the day she broke her own curse herself, it’s as if she’s grown wings.”

Though not born with a martial physique, her talent was undeniably genuine. At times, he even wondered if raising such a child—potentially destined to surpass even himself, her master—within too tight constraints might be a mistake.

At the same time, he couldn’t be certain whether it was truly right to train a child whose very constitution seemed unsuited for martial arts as if she were a martial artist—especially since Haheun herself showed no clear ambition to reach new heights or become stronger.

“Now that I think of it, Hahyeon is the same in that regard.”

Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away

This is also on my reread list!

This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.

Definitely worth a read, y’all!

The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.

But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.

Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.

I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.

The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.

As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.

Intro

As an enchantress, Su Heng possesses captivating eyes and charming beauty, easily manipulating the joys and sorrows of living beings at her fingertips.

But to enchant a god, making him taste the bitterness of love’s separation, long-lasting resentment, unattainable desires, and inability to let go…

Do you dare?

Su Heng assists a divine lord in his cultivation, aiming to make him experience all the sufferings of love, so that he can attain the Great Dao.

Only after being chased down from the heavens by the divine lord, confined and completely possessed by him, does she realize how successful she has been.

The once gentle and polite youth has transformed into someone she no longer recognizes.
